As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I empower individuals to experience emotional and mental health renewal, through gaining inner strength to overcome difficult situations and lead a rewarding life. I provide counseling services to Individuals and families facing difficult situations; involving emotional distress, grief and loss, relationship, community mental health and trauma issues. My services extends to providing In-home early intervention counseling to at-risk families with histories of physical and sexual abuse, neglect, school truancy , anger management, substance abuse , depression , grief and loss, adjustment and conduct disorders, oppositional defiant behaviors and high risk individuals for suicidal behaviors .

I am not accepting new clients at this time. There is no question that we continue to live in challenging times. Truly, life was hard enough before COVID with managing work, family, and other demands but things have drastically changed. So it's not surprising that fear, worry, and maybe even depression have crept in. During times like these connection matters most. I am a Georgia licensed clinical social worker providing holistic therapy to adults, through individual therapy and group therapy. I practice within a proactive compassionate teamwork based model. SERVICES AVAILABLE DURING COVID-19 CRISIS: Beginning the week of 3/23/2020 I will begin providing counseling services via telemental health, as this protects your health and has also been shown to be as effective as face-to-face counseling in an office. I use a HIPPA compliant platform that protects your privacy and confidentiality. I will be providing counseling services to children, adolescents and adults. I will be offering sliding scale fees for individuals who have lost a significant portion of their income during this crisis. I will also provide documentation you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

I have been a therapist for 22 years and have worked in this field for 23 years. I have extensive experience in crisis intervention, depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress management. I want to help my clients develop self-awareness and coping skills for their challenges by utilizing their strengths and social supports. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia with 30 years of experience in the field of social work, human services, and counseling. I received my Master of Social Work degree from Hunter College School of Social Work, NYC and my Ph.D. in Human Services, with a specialization in community and social programs from Capella University, Minnesota. Additionally, I am a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS-II).

Mental illness can be isolating and leave you with doubts about who you are. I have seen this show up in many ways throughout my work with individuals struggling with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, disordered eating and anxiety related disorders. Individuals with OCD might find themselves scared and confused by their thoughts. Most struggle with intrusive images and thoughts that are not aligned with their values and who they know themselves to be. I have worked with individuals for whom their depressive symptoms made it difficult to show up for themselves and their loved ones and complete daily tasks/activities.
