I have over 30 years experience in doing therapy with children, teens, and adults. More than half this time has been spent helping children and teens, and their parents, deal with social/emotional difficulties of childhood and adolescence. Areas I have been focusing on include school performance, peer relationships, parent-child relationships, self esteem, anxiety issues, and depression. I also have considerable experience in working with family issues, including divorce, and in working with individual adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, self esteem, or relationship issues.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years experience working with children, adolescents and families. I specialize in treating children and adolescents who have faced trauma, abuse, loss and multiple transitions. I believe in utilizing a holistic and strength-building approach to working with children and their families. I incorporate a variety of therapeutic techniques into my sessions in order to meet your child where they are at to facilitate growth and healing. Ajit Samudra is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in IL with over 20 years of experience helping children, teens, young adults, and families. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Case Western Reserve University and completed his Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana State University. Ajit also completed postgraduate studies at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. Ajit has extensive experience working with children, youth, and families in community mental health and school settings. He has helped clients with a broad range of presenting problems, including school problems, ADHD, executive function, and emotion regulation difficulties. He has worked with clients exhibiting anxiety, depression, stress and anger management problems, adjustment to life transitions, self-esteem, and work/life balance in young adults. Ajit is a strong believer in collaborating with clients and families and using a systemic, multicultural lens to help clients cope with stressors and create positive change. He works with individuals, families and couples and enjoys working with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

My work years ago with adolescents led naturally to working more closely with parents, who often struggle themselves during this turbulent time for their children. I have extensive experience working with school-aged children experiencing social, emotional and behavioral difficulties. I provide full psychological assessments as well as individual and family therapeutic intervention typically working with children and their families engaging in intervention strategies to better moderate struggles related to ADHD and Mood Disorders.
