My work is integrative, which means I pay attention to the dynamics in the session as well as the issues and experiences you bring into the room.
Life can be hard sometimes, leaving us with bumps, bruises, and wounds that are difficult to heal on our own. Therapy is a space where you can better understand yourself so that you can heal and find a different and more meaningful way of being in the world. In the context of a safe and empathic therapeutic relationship, you are able to listen better to yourself, understand your emotional pain, and see the ways that it has impacted your life. It is through this process that the work of therapy can be both hard but ultimately rewarding.

In my practice, I use a medley of integrative approaches that are unique to each client’s situation, since one method does not fit all.
Are you looking for someone to listen to you when it feels like no one else will? Therapy is a wonderful and safe place to discuss life’s problems, seek closure, and work through diagnoses, no matter what they may be. I hold the notion that all people are inherently good and should be given unconditional positive regard in a therapy setting. Through a collaborative relationship built on mutual trust and respect, I can help you on your journey to recovering and rebuilding. My areas of specialty are Borderline Personality Disorder, manipulative relationships, and Anxiety related disorders.

Engaging in therapy can be a healing and transformative process, paving the way to gain satisfaction in your life. Guided by compassion and trust, I take a collaborative and multicultural approach to create a safe space for this exploration.

I thoroughly enjoy clients who are open to using an integrative approach to healing that supports healing mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Hello, my name is Tina Curran-Taylor, LPC. My favorite areas of practice include trauma, addictions, depression and anxiety including all the nuanced behaviors that can present within these categories. Many people have the misconception that you must dig relentlessly into the past to release the pain or the limiting beliefs and though the past informs our current approach to life, we only want to explore as much as it takes to release the chains.

Becoming a person LLC is a project that I took on as a quest to understand how we become who we are. This quest took me further than psychology to the wide world of neurobiology, epigenetic, child development, evolutionary science, old world traditions and nature. The more research I did the more these sciences fitted together like different pieces to the same puzzle, telling me there is one universal answer to the human agony. In my work with my clients I utilize all that I learned in a holistic and integrative approach, a well designed system that help them look at life differently, outward and from within.

Because therapy is not "one-size-fits-all," I use an evidence-based, integrative approach adapted for your unique needs.
Do you feel tense, anxious, on edge? Do you worry about work, relationships, family- seemingly everything? Are you kept awake at night by racing thoughts, rehashing things you said yesterday, reviewing tomorrow's to-do list? I can help! I have experience working with a range of issues, and specialize in treating anxiety, OCD, and relationship difficulties. I work collaboratively to identify problematic patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and guide you in learning and implementing strategies to change these cycles. We can explore why these issues developed, to help you better understand yourself and live a more fulfilling life.

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
