Hello, my name is Evelyn Lieb and I graduated with a Masters in Clinical and Mental Health as well as a Masters in Legal and Forensic Psychology from Marymount University in 2021. I am currently a Resident in Counseling at SafeHarbor in Virginia. Having worked as an educator with children ages 0-21 for the last 10+ years, I am now looking forward to continuing working with children in the capacity of a counselor. Furthermore, I have experience in working with children and adults with disabilities and I am fluent in German.

Painful past experiences and current life stressors can tremendously impact our mental health, challenge our relationships with others, and affect our sense of self. We often have to find strategies to adapt and survive difficult circumstances of disconnection, criticism, invalidation, and trauma. Without realizing it, we may develop beliefs about ourselves that are limiting and self-defeating, and we continue to operate from old patterns long after they have stopped serving us. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, empathic, and nonjudgmental space for you to share, learn, grow, and heal.

I studied Psychology in the United States and graduated with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. I have been working as a counseling psychologist for over 10 years with most of my experience with adult individuals. I enjoy conducting therapy with people from different backgrounds and have worked successfully with individuals who have experienced various types of trauma, such as childhood abuse, sexual or physical assaults, combat or domestic violence. I am also experienced in treating anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, anger management problems, or problem solving deficits.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in VA, TX, and MA and earned my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, master’s degree in Forensic Psychology, and master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from American International College in Springfield Massachusetts. I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years in addiction rehabs, county and city jails, crisis stabilization units, and outpatient services. I use a wide variety of therapeutic approaches that are based on the individual needs of the client. I am also able to supervise residents in counseling.

Monica Barrett focuses on delivering behavioral health care in efforts to increase individuals sense of self worth again. She is also very compassionate in providing individual, couples, family and group therapy. Monica's areas of expertise include addictions, mood and anxiety disorders, behavioral and cognitive disorders. She has extensive experience working with the military community, children, adolescents and a special interest in helping individuals with past trauma.
