Throughout my 28 years in the educational field and my 8 years in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy, I have seen firsthand how challenges can impact every area of life. As your therapist, I will provide a safe and supportive environment to help you discover your strengths and explore solutions to help you move forward.

True counseling creates a relationship between the client and the counselor; a relationship of mutual respect and trust. With the right counselor this relationship can be life-changing. My approach is unique. My office space is cozy and inviting, just like your very own living room. Also, I believe in being down to earth and straightforward with my clients, and in working with them to bring about true healing.

Do you need help navigating a particularly tough time in life? I believe that therapy can provide a space for individuals to safely and openly explore problems of any kind. My goal is to collaboratively work to create a comfortable and supportive atmosphere in which we can gain a better understanding of your problems, which can often lead to new insights about how to approach it. Finding the right therapist is often a frustrating process that takes some trial and error. But when we're able to find the right fit, it can make a difference. Alicia Hart has 24 years of experience working with individuals and families to meet their spiritual and clinical needs. She is dedicated to providing therapy that creates healing, change, and personal growth. The therapeutic process is different for each client. This is not a one size fits all process. Alicia understands that her job is help navigate change for her clients. The path to change requires insight and tools in order for the individual to overcome whatever obstacles they are facing. Alicia helps her clients to embrace the future and grow from the experiences of the past.

Taking steps for better self-care can be a struggle to begin let alone balance with the demands of our busy world. It takes courage to make an appointment for therapy and I want people to find a warm and accepting atmosphere in their very first visit with me. I am Ashley Height, and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in South Carolina. In addition to my LPC, I have also been a professional school counselor at the high school level for twelve years. I completed my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Psychology/Education at North Greenville University and my master's degree in School Counseling from Gardner-Webb University. I am currently working on my Ed.D. in Community Care and Counseling with an emphasis in Traumatology from Liberty University.

There is a solution. There is hope. And there is healing. Anxiety, depression, disordered eating, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, disruption in relationships, substance abuse, and on and on. These are curable, changeable, healable issues. When you go straight to the root of the issue, you can bring deep, lasting change. And we now know that the root of every mental health disorder (and many physical diseases as well) is some form of unresolved trauma. Trauma refers to any moment in our lives that we were unsafe in some way. Big or small, single events or years-long patterns-if we aren't able to process it, we store it.

In the counseling process, I use relationship building to develop the foundation from which to address needs. Drawing from personal experience and education, I work hard to support people as they move from where they are to where they want to be. Motivated by my deep faith, I feel that all people matter and that change is always possible.

These are particularly challenging times where isolation and separation may compound an already difficult situation. In spite of what’s occurring in our world, hope, encouragement, and honest care can provide the support you may need to overcome whatever challenge you are facing. You may have reached a point where you just don’t know what to do regarding your marriage, your children, other relationships, or you may be struggling with an ongoing cycle of depression or anxiety. You may want change, but it seems that you have not been able to achieve it on your own. You need help.

There are many challenges or stages in life that can cause us to feel out of control and uncertain. Having a safe person to help us along the way can make all the difference. Sometimes we just need a safe person to understand our feelings and thoughts. Other times we may need guidance with finding the best tools that allow us to overcome a challenging time. I believe that therapy works best when it is a collaborative effort between therapist and client. My goal is to get to know you and help you find what works best for your life.
