I have extensive experience with mood disorders, trauma and addictions and work with all ages. I am trained in EMDR and use that technique with both children and adults if appropriate. My clients often state when they first spoke to me they felt immediately at ease and did not feel judged. I am able to assist my clients in seeing patterns in their life story and work to identify and change core beliefs such as "I'm not good enough", "I'm defective" or "I cannot trust others."

Problems do not occur in a vacuum. Individual problems often have symptoms that affect the entire family system. I work with children, adolescents, couples, and families experiencing whatever problems of the moment. During our work together, we will explore the impact of the issue and join together to generate solutions that not only benefit the people in the room, but may also positively influence future generations.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I try to offer affordable mental health counseling, because I believe that therapy should be accessible to all who need it. I also offer art therapy, play therapy, and life coaching. I want to help you to feel better--and help you to achieve the goals that matter to you. I offer a range of mental health support ranging from Psycho-educational Assessment, psychotherapy, counseling, intervention and RTI monitoring, family and marital counseling. Specialization is with children, adolescents, couples and families. I am currently accepting clients who need assessments and or psychotherapy services.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Florida) and Licensed Professional Counselor (DC and Virginia). I provide individual therapy to children, teens, and adults managing concerns with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship struggles, school issues, and trauma. I use both talk and expressive therapies. I am a registered play therapist and at times use expressive approaches (play therapy, sand tray, art) to help clients communicate and process their needs and challenges.

All problems have more than one solution, and solutions are not one-size-fits-all. My approach to helping a person find the right solution to a mental, emotional, or behavior problem is to first take the time to identify the problem, and then to understand the unique ways that the problem is affecting the person's functioning and relationships. A solution can only be effective if it's practical and consistent with the big picture of a person's life - it has to fit who you are and what you can do, otherwise it just becomes another problem.

I became a Marriage and Family Therapist because I enjoy processing with individuals and listening to personal journeys to find a resolution. I was a High School performance art major and find this skill set benefical in providing supports through visual cues using various therapeutic approaches and modalities. I specialize in working with children and families in child welfare. I enjoy working with young children and teens as these are challenging developmental years, trauma and distress from systemic and familial patterns of behaviors, coupled with low parenting, coping, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
