Hello! Hola! My name is Alejandrina (Aly). I ‘am the daughter of immigrant parents from Mexico. Connecting with my culture, roots and ancestral practices has been a core part of my development as a psychotherapist. It is important for me to create a space where people feel like they belong but most importantly that they know their story matters. I want my clients to believe they can find their own healing within themselves.

As a Latinx woman, who has faced the struggle and challenges of societal and cultural expectations, I am passionate about empowering others to become the best version of themselves. Together, we can achieve this by looking within to find the strength to unlearn old patterns that do not serve you anymore. Life can be full of peaks and valleys, and I am here to support you through the journey.

One of my primary career objectives is help people helping themselves. I see Psychotherapy as a powerful tool for self-assistance and personal growth. My primary mission as psychotherapist is to encourage and assist people in finding ways to solve their emotional problems and develop more effective coping skills to deal with their issues. Through therapy people may find help to improve self-esteem, obtain self-confidence that promote a better quality life. Additionally, people may work on interpersonal relationship issues, fears, emotional conflicts, and traumas.

Many of us struggle with emotional and mental symptoms and yet do not always quite understand why? Some of us experience a sudden life event that caused us to feel unbearably overwhelmed with stress, anxiety, depressed or irritable moods, yet others have experienced the ups and downs throughout their entire life from childhood and cannot quite understand why they continue to struggle.

Life is too short to live in sorrow or pain. Trauma impacts every aspect of ones life. In my practice I provide a nurturing, nonjudgmental, safe invironemnt in order to work on reprocessing traumas in mind and body.

We all embark on the journey of life at the same starting point. We all travel down the road before us; trying to carve out a path that will lead us to the kind of life that will bring us joy, peace, and happiness. However, there are times when the path leads us off the course of happiness and fulfillment, and into some dark corners where we become stuck.

There are times in life when a little extra help is needed, whether it is due to special circumstances or a lifelong struggle. This can manifest as Depression, Anxiety, Physical illness, a feeling of “stuckness” in life, or an overall sense of dissatisfaction. For those times, therapy can be a wonderful tool. I consider therapy an art, as every individual and every session is different. I attempt to focus treatment on awareness of self, helping you to know yourself, your own wants, needs, and desires, how you envision yourself in the future, and how I can guide you to reach this vision.

I work with individuals, teens, families, siblings, and couples. I also offer a parent support group. I want to work with anyone wanting to explore themselves and their identity within the context of the family dynamic. I want to help children be able to express their needs and desires to parents. I want siblings to find healing from shared trauma. I want parents and caregivers to feel seen and heard while also helping improve communication with each other and children. Overall, I want to help families heal generational trauma and improve connection.

Low cost, quality mental health services are available now! Our psychotherapy program is dedicated to help people of all ages resolve issues that interfere with living a fulfilling life. AMCS provides group therapy as well as counseling for individuals, couples and families. Our therapists also provide services to youth and children at local schools and after school programs. AMCS offers both short-term and long-term therapy to meet the needs of those seeking support. Psychiatric services (diagnosing, treatment planning and medication monitoring) are available to clients in ongoing therapy at AMCS.
