Telehealth only. I'm an independent clinician who loves working with people on learning new ways to better improve their everyday lives. I try to create a space where you can feel judgment free and laid back to just be who you are. Together, I enjoy finding practical things that you can incorporate into your life to see improvements in how you feel and interact with others. A lot of this is accomplished through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy where we work to change your view and create a more positive pattern of thinking. I pull from a variety of other modalities and am trained in EMDR.

My training in holistic mental health, EMDR, ear acupuncture, yoga, mindfulness, and meditation informs the way I work with clients to address anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, loss, trauma, as well as relational, existential and spiritual issues in their daily lives.
Life can challenge your ability to respond in ways that feel true to who you know yourself to be. It's wise to seek support when you find yourself facing struggles that overwhelm your capacity to live life intentionally. Together, we can seek to understand your perspective, increase your sense of well-being, and meet life with integrity.

I offer individual therapy using emdr, ifs, and psychodynamic therapy.
Trauma (big and small) can create symptoms and experiences of anxiety/depression, low self esteem, feeling 'stuck', negative core beliefs, dissociation, somatic flashbacks, sexual addictions, and shame/guilt. These are some of the symptoms our work together will address. Common goals include decreasing the impact of prior trauma(s), increased self esteem, decreased shame or intrusive thoughts, and healthier core beliefs-to name a few! Clients I work with are motivated to change, and often seek more fulfillment, healthier relationships, and more mental peace.

You spend way too much time stuck in a loop of anxious thoughts and feel you are missing out on life. It is difficult to feel present when worry keeps distracting you. You have missed enough already. EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
