Hello! I'm Jodie. Although I have specialized in working with children and adolescents, I also work with adults who have experienced trauma or struggle with other stressors. Past roles include senior leadership positions for nonprofits in the state of Massachusetts. This included working closely with DCF, DMH, and DJJ in order to support children and families. One single approach is not suitable for everyone, so I take an integrative approach to therapy. I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, ACT, Forensic Social Work, and Brief Therapy. I am also a master's Level Expert for CPCS. Public defenders can hire me as a consultant on cases.

My ideal client would be new to therapy, though motivated to change. I am aware of the challenges that come with seeking therapy and want to be a support to those who are hesitant with the process. Ideally, I would like a client who is self-aware, receptive to feedback, and willing to hold themselves accountable.

I am currently accepting clients 18+ who are struggling with ongoing substance use, or individuals who are currently in recovery and would like support navigating life stressors. Identifying the need for support to reduce or quell your substance use is a significant first step in the recovery journey. Whether this is a new venture for you or you have benefitted from addiction counseling before, I am happy to be on your team and help you achieve your recovery goals.

My Ideal client: 36 yo male, divorced, with two children. The patient was incarcerated 16 years, due to drug addiction/trafficking. He spent his early childhood living with his mother and father, who sexually abused him. They were also addicted to drugs due to their childhood experiences of being abused. The patient's parents also prostituted him in exchange for drugs for others. The patient turned to drugs to escape the pain, embarrassment, and overall trauma from his childhood. He now wants sobriety and to overcome his trauma, which includes flashbacks and negative self-image, self-hatred, and hatred of his parents.

Accepting new clients for the group practice: Rooted Counseling Services! I am a Clinical Social Worker and the Founder of 'Rooted.' My specialty is within the family context, working with children, families, and parents. My focus when working with children and teens is to help them through the transitions they face with a relational approach and an empathetic ear, all while exploring helpful strategies. My name is Anastaxia Kirkpatrick, and I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts. I became interested in the mental health field early on. I took my first introductory to psychology class in high school and this inspired me to pursue higher degrees in the psychology field. I eventually narrowed by specialty to forensic psychology, and I have a master's degree in forensic mental health counseling and have worked in several community settings. During my time working in community settings, I was able to witness the need for more outpatient therapists.
