A common trait among my clients seems to be a fierce desire to improve their lives & take back control. Many clients have tried treatment for OCD, phobias or anxiety, therefore, I understand how frustrated they may feel, and help them use that frustration to fuel their inner fire. I work to understand my clients from a whole-person approach, then create a plan unique as each clients needs. OCD, phobias & anxiety can be overcome, I've seen it happen! Don't let anxiety & stress run the show. Together, we'll reclaim your power through traditional or unconventional therapy, like VR Therapy, Ketamine Therapy or Creative Art Therapy

I sometimes use sound therapy (music therapy) or energy therapy with clients receptive to the healing, expressive arts.
I am here for you. I've been a therapist since 2003 and offering online therapy since 2015. Save time (traffic, tolls, childcare arrangements, and to reduce contagion)! I am devoted to helping motivated clients make positive changes in their lives. As a holistic psychotherapist, I address past experiences and how they may not serve you in the Present, as you work toward a more joyful future. If you are seeking to transform your life by working through issues such as self-esteem, college or career transitions, anxiety, depression, or loss, I can help. I often use CBT & Brief Therapy so you reach your goals quickly. Let's talk soon.

** Limited Availability Only Telehealth** Because art is limitless and imaginative for all ages, I utilize multi-mediums such as clay, paint, watercolor, writing, and mindfulness. Art is used as a platform to create a safe space for one to enhance their self-expression and thus their subconscious mind. "Great things are not done by impulse but by a series of small things brought together.” –Vincent Van Gogh.

Many of my clients find me because they are suffering with the effects of anxiety, deep grief or unresolved trauma and pain. They are tired of repeating old patterns and want to go deeper into the work of self-discovery, desire an approach that integrates spirituality with therapy, or want to explore integrative approaches to trauma/story work.

You’re a quirky, empathic, sensitive and creative woman who is finally ready to motivate and find meaning, but stuck in a negative spiral and struggling with emotions. Many creative and empathic women struggle with highly sensitive temperaments and appear typical on the outside but often feel like a hot mess and struggle in their relationships, parenting, careers, health. We can’t get rid of emotions, nor do we want to! It’s what makes us human! Anyone can benefit from learning ways to better regulate or express emotions. Anxiety and emotions can suck, which is why you may choose to use food or something else to numb or distract.

I have been the leading provider of socialization groups for children with ADHD, Anxiety, and Autistic Spectrum Disorder in Monmouth County for the past 20 years. Every child can learn ways to interact positively with other children. By using a combination of play therapy, dance/movement therapy, and cognitive-behavioral strategies in the groups, children learn to be successful with their peers. I offer individual counseling sessions on parenting issues and for those children that need help with selective mutism, anxiety, and specific behavior issues not applicable to the group situation.

Adolescence is a complex journey; one that can trigger intense feelings of sadness frustration, self doubt, loneliness and fear. Without the proper tools to navigate these roads, a young female can find herself entangled in darkness. Although this period in her life will pass, the residual effect of her decisions and experiences as a teenager, can impact the path she continues on throughout her lifetime. Now more than ever, your daughter needs the appropriate support as she works to gain a deeper, more comprehensive understanding of herself and the world around her.

Expressive Arts Therapists

What happens in expressive arts therapy?

In an expressive arts therapy session, the therapist will provide the space and materials necessary to encourage the client to express themselves creatively. These can include art supplies, musical instruments, a journal, a camera, and more. The therapist offers careful guidance throughout the creative process, often noticing and talking about psychological issues as they arise. Many clients also benefit from the mind-body connection—the physical act of making art can help them feel more grounded and present.

How long does expressive arts therapy take?

An expressive arts therapy session will typically last between 50 minutes and an hour. Group sessions may run longer. Sometimes, a client might only need one or two sessions of expressive arts therapy in conjunction with talk therapy to resolve a psychological issue. Others might find a fixed number of sessions over the course of either weeks or months to be beneficial. The duration depends on the client and their individual needs and goals for therapy.

How does expressive arts therapy help children?

Creativity is an important part of normal child development. Expressive arts therapy proves a safe outlet for child clients to learn to identify their emotions and express them in healthy ways. In expressive arts therapy, children can build their self-esteem, discover more about their personality and strengths, and feel a sense of normalcy in an otherwise chaotic world. This therapeutic approach can be particularly helpful for children with developmental disabilities, autism, ADHD, speech impairments, and other conditions.

What are the limitations of expressive arts therapy?

Sometimes individuals have physical limitations that can affect their ability to express themselves artistically in certain mediums. For example, someone with hearing problems might find it difficult to make music. Sickness and mobility issues can make some types of art physically inaccessible (e.g., sculpting, dancing, etc.). Sometimes, clients are overly skeptical and have trouble letting go and engaging with the creative process. Individuals who require a higher level of care may be better served with other types of therapy.
