I work with adults needing emotional support and specialize in releasing shame and guilt from experiencing trauma. In session we address the parts of your personality that hold protection over the wounded and vulnerable inner child and we release the frozen emotions that keep that inner child fearful, insecure, withdrawn, or stuck. Why is it that we are so much harsher on ourselves than we are on others? Sometimes it’s as if our inner critic has a zero-tolerance policy for ourselves. Even when we’re hurting, our critic might jump in and say “You shouldn’t be feeling this way, suck it up.” It can be hard to manage our pain (or outright heal!) if our inner critic is ruthless and unrelenting.
