When people have experienced trauma, losses, stressors, and difficulties in relationships, they sometimes struggle to find hope. When relationships with friends, children & family are confusing and challenging, many feel isolated. You may judge yourself harshly instead of practicing self-compassion, leading to feelings of low self-esteem. In addition to meeting the needs of people struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and family conflict, members of the adoption triad will find a safe space here to explore their story and prepare to meet the unique needs that encompass adoption.

I have over 10 years of Clinical experience counseling in a variety of roles including loss and grief, anxiety, foster care/adoption, trauma and other family services.
Do you ever feel life is beating you down? Are you experiencing a change in life? Do you feel broken, stressed or exhausted? I named my practice Restore because I believe that counseling can offer you the opportunity to bring back the feeling of wholeness you may have once felt in life. I believe in the importance and beauty of life. When life changes it can be an opportunity for you to gain new skills to deal with your emotions. Just like you would see a doctor or set exercise goals, your emotional health is just as important to your overall health. I can work with you to help you bring new beauty out of the struggles of life.

We all want to be emotionally healthy to realize our true potential. However, tension and disorder often make this seem impossible. Family, loved ones, and friends recognize when you are hurting but they may not know how to offer essential support. How do you begin a journey of restoration and transformation? Connecting with a caring, trusting, non-judgmental professional who truly listens to you, is the first step toward the restorative process for life balance, inner peace, control over decisions and transitions, and hopefulness. Talk with a professional who understands and genuinely cares for your well-being.

Faces TW offers talk therapy to assist those dealing with Depression, anxiety, stress, family and relational conflict, and Trauma.
Many of us wake up every day with feelings of the unknown- not knowing how we feel, what led us down this road, wondering how to deal with it and if we will be judged. We put on FACE daily to hide the depression, anxiety, loneliness and bottled up pain that we feel just so, we do not have to answer the uncomfortable question of, “What’s wrong”. Not realizing that not being honest with ourselves is making our emotional and psychological state worse. Faces Therapeutic and wellness was designed to assist you with peeling away your many faces so that complete emotional and psychological healing can take place.

I Love working with children and families because I feel that the family is so important in the development of children. Helping kids to have a better home life or helping improve their transition during a divorce, a recent move, or a new school environment is an important part of my practice. I also enjoy working with adults to help them achieve their best life. I use an eclectic approach that includes: child-centered play therapy, sand tray therapy, cognitive behavioral, solution focused and client centered therapy. I also enjoy helping clients to find their own strengths and ways to utilize those strengths to have their best life

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
