My name is Carey Schmidt, and I am an Associate Professional Counselor at Broad Oaks Counseling. I enjoy working with mostly children and adolescents, although I accept adults as well, who may be feeling anxious, depressed, or simply going through a tough time. I view counseling as a partnership where both the client and counselor work together to achieve the goals that the client sets for themselves, and I am always excited and try my best to help those goals come to fruition.

Just as taking the time to care for your physical health is important, so is caring for your mental health. Whether you are struggling with life changes and transitions, depression or anxiety, relationship conflicts or being overwhelmed with life - counseling can provide a space to leave negative emotions behind and move towards a more fulfilled life. Just a brief history about me: my experience in psychotherapy/counseling began over 20 years ago and has included various populations who have shared stories of rejection, abandonment, and spiritual and emotional brokenness.
