I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working with adults, adolescents, and children in northern Michigan for more than 30 years. I believe it's possible to redefine one's potential by understanding each person's unique strengths and limitations, and incorporating these into attainable goals. My focus is to help clients of all ages cope with challenging issues such as divorce, abuse, trauma, depression, self-image, grief and anxiety. I have specialized training in EMDR, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and am a Registered Play Therapist.

Welcome. I am so happy you are here. As humans we are extremely resilient and adaptive to our surroundings. At times, this can be a gift and it can also lead us on a path that is no longer serving us. Therapy has the potential to change the quality of our lives, as well as for those around us, for generations to come. I specialize in guiding people back to themselves, while setting the conditions for healing to take place. Given the right conditions our bodies and minds can heal. You already carry everything you need from within. My approach is rooted in authenticity, compassion, and client empowerment.

I am licensed both as a Clinical Psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist. I also have a Ph.D. in Quantum Advanced Medicine. I do therapy with individuals for depression, anxiety and many other life issues. I work with couples and families through Marriage and Family Therapy which is my specialty area. Furthermore, attending to the grief and loss through a divorce is also an important component of family work. Therapy with adolescents and children, sexual and alcohol addictions are critical components of my practice today. Clients come to me because of my strong emphasis on natural treatment consultations when possible.

My passion for providing counseling comes through the desire to make all of my clients feel heard and supported throughout their therapeutic journey and life journey. I provide therapy services for children, adolescents, adults, and families with my specialty areas including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, stress reduction, family and peer relationship challenges, eating disorders and body image issues.

My name is Daeun (pronounced Ta-un) and I have worked closely with a number of children and adolescents, using play, sand tray, senses and art therapeutically to help work through trauma and family conflicts. I am equally devoted and qualified to work with adults and implement a variety of treatment methods including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

Kaleidoscope Counseling specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults and families. I am experienced in working with trauma such as sexual or physical abuse, parenting issues, anxiety, depression, and substance use disorder. All Counseling is confidential with a personalized approach for each client. The goal of therapy at Kaleidoscope Counseling is to help develop skills and techniques to navigate your life journey. Our initial meeting will provide an opportunity to complete a comprehensive client assessment. This will be a ninety minute appointment. In the following appointment, we will agree on a treatment plan with your individual measurable goals to include frequency and length of attendance.

I focus on providing a caring, safe, & nonjudgmental environment to support you as you begin to address and cope with the challenges in your life. For LLPCs: I am taking on LLPCs for supervision.

I work with adults, parents/caregivers, and children from birth to 12 years old. I work towards providing support to those who have concerns regarding anxiety, depression, navigating life changes and times of transition, perinatal and postnatal issues, relationship challenges, grief and loss, attachment concerns, and processing difficult life experiences. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am also endorsed by the Michigan Association of Infant Mental Health as an Infant Family Specialist (Level II). Previously, I have worked as an Infant Mental Health Therapist and have worked with elementary age children in a school setting.
