I am an Emotionally Focused Therapy counselor, who follows the belief that relationship conflict is not the core issue in relationship distress, emotional disconnection is.
I believe counseling can be one of the most amazing and transformational experiences of your life when you feel validated, safe, and supported to explore your life’s struggles. My primary goal in every session is that each of my clients feel safe and supported so that they have the opportunity to realize and achieve the goals they set out and want for their lives. Sometimes that means walking down some difficult paths. I walk alongside each of my clients providing support through this struggle.

If you’re feeling under-appreciated at work or home, unfulfilled in your career or life, or completely burnt out from juggling all the things, I’d love to partner with you.
When the alarm goes off in the morning, do you dread getting out of bed and going to work, school, or dealing with your family? Have you experienced workplace or home trauma due to ongoing harassment, gaslighting, or lack of support of psychological safety? Do you struggle with boundaries, balance or self-compassion? Do you feel like you’ve outgrown your role, lost your identity, or are constantly searching for purpose in your life? Do you question what’s next for you or your loved ones but have no one to talk to about your concerns? If so, then we should talk.

I specialize in couples and family therapy and work from a systemic perspective.
Are you feeling stuck and need some guidance for growth? I won't offer band-aid solutions, only lasting and meaningful change. Therapy to me is a process of identifying and understanding who you are and where you want to go. I want to journey with you to the deeper levels of your struggles and find the light. The arrow is a powerful symbol to me that represents the growth we are capable of. In order for an arrow to aim forward, it must be pulled back with the bow to gain strength.

I believe it is important to honor where we’ve been, and to take an active role in where we are going. Nothing in life is static, yet navigating the relentless ebb and flow of life, with its ups and downs can be difficult and sometimes overwhelming. An important role of mine is to cultivate a safe space where you feel seen, heard and safe, so you can freely share what is weighing on you. As social beings, we learn and heal best through connection with others. In fact, the brain is hardwired for relationship.

Waitlist for new clients
As a therapist, I will help you take all of the stress and rearrange it into something beautiful for yourself, your relationship, or both.
Life gets messy and complicated. Struggling with the work/life/family balance can be managed by acknowledging the challenge and talking about it. Most clients struggle with some type of anxiety or depression. In the session, we start by working toward developing a coping skill "toolbox" and learning how to recognize when those symptoms start. Most clients want to feel heard and want to have strategies to use to help manage their symptoms. I also find that most clients want a person to listen, someone who is impartial, who can challenge but offer a perspective.

I work from a holistic, person centered position and engage with you to build a collaborative relationship around your strengths and interests.
I am dedicated to helping people overcome their struggles and become more connected with themselves and others. I've worked in Human Services since 1995 and have been a Mental Health Therapist since 2002. My training includes many modalities but what I find to be the important is understanding where people are in their lives through actively listening to people's experience, being supportive and identifying what works best for each person. This creates a safe environment where people feel heard, accepted and validated..

I work with clients on many issues including depression, anxiety, couples issues and relationship counseling, PTSD, low self-esteem and personal relationship issues.
Have you been struggling with depressive or anxious thoughts, negative views of yourself or not knowing how to deal with life stressors? Sometimes the hardest step is to admit that you need guidance and direction, but getting help can be the first step to feeling better. I am here to provide a non judgmental, calm and productive environment to help move past that first step.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
