I am a Blacksburg native, recently relocated back to the area, and have opened my practice to offer assessment, therapy, and consultation services. I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing difficulties with learning and attention problems, executive functioning issues, and mood and behavioral difficulties, including anxiety, depression, and anger-management. My treatment approach is typically based in cognitive-behavioral interventions, although I consider the personality of the client and the dynamics of the family in order to tailor an effective and goal-directed treatment approach.

I enjoy providing comprehensive assessment services designed to discover strengths, clarify the problem, identify supports and strategies, and connect people with resources. Psychological and multi-disciplinary testing is available for concerns about attention, behavior, relationships, social skills, mood, problem solving, cognitive functioning, learning, executive functioning, memory, independent living skills, and mental health. Reports and recommendations can be tailored for medical diagnosis, mental health intervention, educational planning, and/ or vocational planning. Testing services are offered for all ages.

Dr. Villines is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. She received her doctorate degree in psychology (PsyD) in 2004 from the American School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C and completed pre- and postdoctoral training in community mental health centers and neuropsychological practices in the Washington, D.C. area. Dr. Villines conducts comprehensive neuropsychological assessments, evaluating individuals with complex medical, developmental, social-emotional, attentional, learning, and genetic related disorders.
