Attachment theories and Person-Centered structures undergird all of my clinical work with the goal of creating a safe, inviting atmosphere where feelings, thoughts, and beliefs can be freely and confidentially explored without fear of judgment. I'm a directive and empowering therapist with over 30 years of experience. I provide individual and couples therapy for people suffering with depression, bipolar and other mood disorders using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as other treatment modalities.

My specialty is psychological assessment/evaluations for children and adults. Areas of focus include AD/HD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (Asperger's), Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders (Depression and Bipolar), Schizophrenia, Learning Disorders, Disruptive Behavior Disorders (e.g. Oppositional Defiant and Conduct Disorder) and Personality Disorders (e.g. Borderline). I provide IQ testing for school readiness (CAIS testing) and educational evaluations identifying specific learning disorders (e.g. SLD's in reading, writing and math). Additionally, I provide therapeutic services for the above mentioned challenges.

I have been passionate about helping children, adults, and families since I was an adolescent. During therapy, I accept you for who you are and I appreciate and understand that everyone is unique. I provide an empathetic, understanding, and honest voice to soothe and support you through our therapy sessions. There is a solution. There is hope. And there is healing. Anxiety, depression, disordered eating, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, disruption in relationships, substance abuse, and on and on. These are curable, changeable, healable issues. When you go straight to the root of the issue, you can bring deep, lasting change. And we now know that the root of every mental health disorder (and many physical diseases as well) is some form of unresolved trauma. Trauma refers to any moment in our lives that we were unsafe in some way. Big or small, single events or years-long patterns-if we aren't able to process it, we store it.

Issues with Trauma/PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Relationships, Substance Abuse, Addictions, Abuse/Violence, Anger, Divorce and Co-parenting are specialties. I work with marriages, couples, families, individuals and special populations such as Military, Federal, Law Enforcement, First Responders, Health Care Workers /Providers and Corporations. Hi, Do you know your purpose in life? Once this has been established, you may be surprised in how you will be able to readily adapt to some of your life stressors. I began my career in the mental health setting in the mid-nineties. Today, I consider myself blessed because I find it rewarding in seeing clients reach their maximum potential. In addition to my mental health background, I have my own life experiences, which have proven to be beneficial in my scope of practice.

I understand that many times the human family is in crisis, and that all individuals are capable of and deserve compassion.
