I am an eclectic therapist that combines emotion-focused strategies with psychotherapeutic evidence-based approaches. The underlying principles in my approach are that treating anxiety, depression, self-esteem and more can be traced to experiences, beliefs of shame, and other negative core beliefs in an individual. Finding out these aspects of a person’s life, naming them, and working through them are components of her counseling process. I believe in providing a holistic counseling therapy process so you live a wholly present, healthy life.

What I strive to create is an environment where clients feel they are valued, heard, and understood. The clients that tend to do best in my care are often neurodivergent or with diagnosed personality disorders due to how these conditions are chronically misunderstood. One of the hardest things as a father is to watch my children go through difficult things and at times feel completely helpless. As they navigate life and the challenges this cna bring I find a deeper appreciation for the allies in our lives that can support them and us (mom and me) along this journey. Additionally, the more we focus on their needs it is equally a challenge to remember that there is an "US" in our marriage that exists and we have to nurture it with the same drive and care. It can be a lot, at WLP we seek to walk alongside Families, Couples and individuals seeking support through life's challenges.

I have more than twenty five years experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in individual, marital, family, and groups in the field of counseling health services. My experience includes consulting in inpatient psychiatric and hospitals, medical/surgical hospitals, nursing homes, pain management clinics, and private practice. I also specialize in career testing and counseling for high school students, college students, and in career transition for adults. I have served as a psychologist and director of a Christian counseling center for eight years and as a psychologist and manager for the employee assistance program for Methodist Hospitals of Dallas.
