As a trauma-informed therapist with training in CBT, CPT, DBT, TF-CBT, and mindfulness, I use an eclectic approach to better assist each client and their personal needs and challenges. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have been providing mental health therapy services for 5+ years in outpatient settings. I see Individuals, Couples, Groups, and Families. Some of the matters we may address in our sessions are Substance Use Disorder (SUD), Anger Management, PTSD, Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Grief and Trauma. I aspire to foster a warm and safe therapeutic environment in order for us to build a rapport of trust as we journey together.

Life can be such a challenge at times and things can start to feel overwhelming, especially in today's world. I know how hard it can be to reach out for help, and that it can feel difficult to find the right "fit" for a counselor. This is why I am passionate about providing a "person-first approach" to counseling and strive to offer each client both a welcoming and professional, environment to process, grow, and learn. I have a variety of personal, professional, and educational experiences and tools to bring to our work together with the sole purpose of helping you feel safe, heard, and ultimately feel better & more capable overall.

I approach therapy from a holistic perspective and believe in the power to address the whole person- psychologically, physiologically, spiritually, and emotionally. I believe that my role as a therapist is to foster a safe and trusting space for my clients while acting as a guide to help uncover underlying needs and then support and empower through skill building and the processing of impactful experiences.

I believe that we are all imperfect and want to live life as our authentic selves. We mask up every day to make everyone around us happy, no matter the cost to ourselves. We try to bury past and present trauma, paste a smile upon our face, pull up our bootstraps and drive on. I can honestly say that I have been there and done that!

Sometimes what has happened in our past can strongly affect our present moods and behaviors. I utilize a trauma-focused approach in the therapy that I practice. I enjoy working with culturally diverse client populations. As a United States Army retired veteran with over 20 years of service, I also have extensive experience in working with military populations. I am a trauma informed, bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor.

Hi there! I’m excited that you’ve chosen to add therapy to part of your self-care. I was raised by my Korean immigrant grandmother and Black grandfather. This informs a lot of my therapeutic approach. I believe we have to approach healing through a holistic lens and view each person as a part of many systems including their family, community, culture, religion, society, and others. Intersectionality helps us understand that we are more than one “thing.” At all times we are carrying and accessing multiple parts of our identity that mix to form something beautifully complex– YOU!

For the past 40 years I have had the privilege of walking beside a wide variety of good people whose lives just weren't adding up. It has been a blessing and encouragement to assist my clients in discovering their potential that has often been hidden under difficulties.
