Depressive and anxious thoughts do not have to take over your days and keep you from having a peaceful life. From my personal experience as well as research, I can assure you that people do get better and they are able to live a more satisfying and fulfilling life using some basic cognitive and behavioral tools. I had patients tell me: "this is the most peaceful I've ever been", and "I've always known myself as a depressed person, but now it only feels like a bad ankle that I can ignore and live a fulfilling life with". Basic tools of CBT and ACT have helped thousands of people, you can be one too.

I am a pre-licensed counselor under the supervision of Elissa Bauer M.Ed., LPC-S. My passion for counseling stems from my cultural background, I’ve witnessed and experienced first hand how difficult it can be to seek mental health help within a minority community. As a first generation Palestinian-American, I realized that counseling and taking care of your mental health was such a foreign topic. It was after my realization that I wanted to dedicate myself to making mental health care more accessible to those in minority communities, because everyone deserves quality mental health care.

I incorporate my experience at Meridell Achievement Center, which includes working with high-risk individuals that struggled with suicidal ideation/ self-harm/ aggression/ severe depression and anxiety/ and family and social conflict, into my therapeutic technique. Yet, I will work with your unique story by exploring your struggles and unhealthy coping mechanisms to find the turning point that can be reversed using cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focus therapy techniques. I use my unique observation techniques to help them discover both healthy and mal-adaptive sub-conscious patterns.
