I specialize in working with those who have complex trauma and ADHD.
I offer a safe space for you to be vulnerable, heard, and validated. I understand that no single approach is right for any one person. We will work together to clarify your needs in a non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and ideas. We will navigate fears, process your past, and learn the coping skills that will be best suited for you. Through therapy you will feel more understanding and compassion toward yourself, experience fulfillment in your relationships, and feel more confident moving forward in life.

Are you feeling anxious about your relationships? Do you worry about people’s judgments and how other people view you? Do you struggle on how to handle the many hurdles that life throws at you? Do you struggle with ADHD and need help with juggling the expectations and responsibilities that come with living in a neurotypical world while also affirming your inherent worth? Are you navigating the often life-long journey of understanding your sexual or gender identity while also carrying the traumas that come with exposure to a disapproving environment? Is it challenging to balance your cultural identity and your mental health.

You are a determined, high achieving perfectionist, struggling to celebrate your strengths and wins and working on finding balance. You may be experiencing: worry, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns and lifestyle transitions however, are uncertain of your triggers. You may have noticed decreased self-esteem and are struggling to find your life purpose. Perhaps the present moment seems hard to connect with and you want to learn skills to improve the quality and longevity of your relationships.

At times in life, you have been faced with overwhelming situations, challenges, and struggles. You may be existing in a day-to-day state of feeling inadequate, unaccepted, indecisive, unmotivated, and in mental, physical, and spiritual disarray. Your body is fatigued yet your mind continues to race creating unwanted scenarios leading to anxiety, depression, anger, ADHD, codependency, trauma, and relationship concerns. You may feel stuck in unhealthy patterns and cycles with minimal support. You may feel powerless. Powerless to let go, start over, and risk being vulnerable.

Whether you're looking to process trauma, befriend your ADHD, or reduce the shame you hold around parenting, I am here to support you with integrative and evidence-based practices that are specially tailored to your unique goals, interests, and ways of being in the world.
No matter how hard you try, you can’t show up in your life the way you imagine and intend to. You fantasize about your ideal life, but unhealthy patterns keep you from showing up for yourself and those you care about in ways that don’t align with your values. It’s difficult for you to be present, which causes disruption in all areas of your life and increases your anxiety. You feel ashamed of your reaction to stress, which makes you feel lonely and disconnected. You know you need to prioritize yourself and set boundaries, but you’re fearful that this might cause another disruption, which is just too overwhelming.

I specialize in working with adults that have strained relationships with their parents, women with ADHD (particularly late diagnosis), & high-achieving/perfectionist/people-pleasing women.
First and foremost, it takes so much strength to reach out for help and I am glad you are here. It may have taken you a while to get here - maybe your undiagnosed ADHD put it off, or a people-pleasing part of you has put others before yourself, or a perfectionist part that felt bad that you couldn't "fix it" on your own. I believe seeking therapy and inner healing can hold joy and humor as deeply as it can confront and hold pain. My hope is to create a non-judgmental, secure space for you to safely embrace every part of you. Through it all, I will be there alongside you to remind you that you don’t have to carry it all on your own.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
