Marriage counseling is my area of specialty. I'm a marriage and family therapist who has made relationship dynamics my exclusive focus and expertise. I specialize in working with couples who have experienced infidelity in their marriage, where one partner has had an affair. I also work with communication blockages, fighting all the time, lack of intimacy, and loss of the "loving feeling" for each other. Emotions are an important part of life, and help us to connect with others. As a clinical social worker, I strive to understand you in the context of your environment and help you heal places of hurt and trauma you've experienced. Based on training and life experience, I take a whole person view working to connect mind, body, and spirit.

I help couples make sesne of conflict in relationship and learn new skills to talk about thinks that really matter. I am a Licensed Counselor, a Core Energetics practitioner and a Certified Imago Relationship therapist. My approach is holistic in that clients are invited to bring all the dimensions of self into the healing and growth process; the physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual. My passion is supporting men and women in identifying and releasing the emotional wounding that interferes with living more authentic and vibrant lives and to help them learn more effective ways to be in loving relationship.

My therapeutic focus is to have my clients navigate through difficult times and emotions in order to better express themselves, communicate more effectively with loved ones, and improve self-understanding using a Cognitive Behavioral approach. Everyone has a valued voice and I believe fostering a sense of belonging and self-understanding is key to strong, healthy relationships.

Coming from a military background where I served in the United States Navy for 10 years before being Honorably Discharged, I am very familiar with military life and transition. My career background before pursuing a Master of Arts in counseling was as an RN and then as executive director of a nonprofit women's ministry focused on eating disorders and other co-existing conditions. When assessing a client I try to take in the whole person: body, mind, and spirit, considering how each of these components is impacting the others. If a client chooses, I am willing to incorporate Christian faith-based counseling, in addition to a mix of therapeutic approaches. I also provide couples and family counseling. I have been married for 37 years and we have three grown children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 doodle-pups.
