Hi there! My name is Lisa Southerland and I am a licensed professional counselor and certified professional counselor supervisor. I approach counseling from an integrated perspective using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) along with looking at attachment relationships and the impact of trauma on the overall well-being of a person. It is not my goal to simply "fix the problem" but to work with clients to build social connections, empowerment, and increase coping skills for long-term success and well-being.

Kendall is passionate about joining men and women on their journey towards healing and freedom. He believes that one's path towards healing and freedom cannot be fully realized outside of one's dependence on a source more powerful than themselves. Kendall has extensive experience working within the secular and faith-based environment with people who are searching for the means to rise above sexual addiction, anger, depression, trauma, and various other challenges encountered in life. Kendall works with individuals, families, and groups who long to live a more full life, free of the shackles that have bound them.

I specialize in both pornography & sexual addiction recovery along with trauma focused EMDR therapy to help with PTSD as well as betrayal trauma. I also effectively help individuals struggling with a variety of other issues like depression, anxiety, P.T.S.D., chemical dependency, codependence, relational issues, and grief. Over the past two decades I have helped individuals discover how to heal, recover, and reclaim their lives.

My clinical interests include anxiety and depression, trauma, sexual addiction problems, couples therapy, parenting skills, past childhood attachment issues, the integration of faith in the healing process, communication patterns and the role of the family in growth and change.

My training in marriage and family therapy, sex therapy, and addictionology and over two decades of experience provide the background to help you with your marriage and sexual issues. The majority of clients in my practice are couples rebuilding emotional and physical intimacy after an affair or sexual addiction. Couples with other sexual issues (especially sexual desire, painful sex, inability to orgasm or unconsummated marriages), couples falling out of love, and couples struggling to communicate also find help in my office.

My primary goal as a counselor is to enable my clients to capitalize on the strength that resides within each of them. I help couples work through marital conflicts and help them achieve a relationship based on trust, security, mutual empathy and deeper levels of connection. I also work with individuals struggling with histories of trauma such as sexual, physical or emotional abuse. In addition, I help men who struggle with compulsive sexual behaviors, anxieties, depression, and/or obsessive thoughts. I encourage clients to explore their past in order to identify patterns that are affecting their current relationships and personal goals. I provide a safe place to share personal struggles and work toward change. Upon request, I provide a Christian approach.

I am a Distance Counseling Certified therapist, and my practice is currently operating on phone and Video chat for your safety and convenience. I use mind/body interventions, mindfulness, and DBT to help you feel in control of your emotions.I use EMDR & Brainspotting for traumatic memories that cause anxiety. I specialize in the treatment of adults, adolescents and couples.

I am passionate about working with people who encounter stress & unwanted patterns of behavior that interfere with their individual, relational and career aspirations. In addition to my work with individuals who are facing distress from depression & anxiety, I have specific training & experience helping couples & partners dealing with relational distress resulting from problematic sexual behaviors, including facilitating therapeutic disclosures and leading betrayal trauma groups. I also work with older adolescents & adults suffering with body image issues & disordered eating. Parent coaching is another area of expertise.
