I practice CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), TF-CBT (trauma-focused CBT), ABA (applied behavioral analysis), solution-focused therapy, and structural and strategic family therapy. I love learning about neurobiology and the effects that stress has on the brain. A client can expect to encounter a warm, compassionate, and encouraging soul who has a dry sense of humor and tends to address problems in a straightforward manner.

I have spent several years working with children and teens in various capacities in community health and child welfare. I have a unique ability to connect with youth and families that enable them to harness their strengths in order to heal and achieve therapeutic goals. I utilize evidence-based trauma-informed treatments in conjunction with creative activities and somatic exercises to engage my clients in therapy. We are excited to be in Williamsburg and to provide services to the youth in our community, through our private counseling group practice. The practice focuses solely on the struggles that children, adolescents, and their families face throughout their journey in life. As a result, we specialize in youth emotional and behavioral concerns.

The most important aspect of counseling is to establish clear goals that the client and counselor set together. I have worked with many families in the Juvenile Justice Department as well as individual and couples counseling. Life can be overwhelming at times and that is why goals and collaborative contracts within the therapeutic relationship help to sort each issue out individually while working towards the desired outcome. I have treated symptoms of anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder, adjustment disorders, marital conflict, tic disorders, and oppositional defiant disorder as well as conduct disorder.

I aim to help clients learn new skills to live their best lives through individualized counseling approaches. I have experiences working with couples and individuals facing sex-related issues, and am passionate about assisting others with intimacy and gender concerns. I am experienced about helping those who have experienced trauma overcome those experiences in order to thrive. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing difficulties and challenges adjusting to new situations. I am an LGBTQ ally and kink friendly.

For over 20 years, I've worked with people from diverse backgrounds to address anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem, relationships, attention deficit disorders, learning disabilities, executive functioning skills, and academic strategies. I use a variety of approaches (ex: cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused, etc) although sessions are always based on your goals, needs, and preferences.
