** Christian Counseling ** My professional experience has been working with adolescents, college students, adults, working on various issues, and wanting someone to help them in the journey. No one lives life without going through something that makes them question whether they can work through it on their own. This is the very place God has for us to come to him and his strength. I have personally experienced a few of these, and have been given a calling for helping others in theirs. My practice aims to shine light on the purpose we have on this earth, and walking with you to uncover the roots of why you struggle.

I believe we each possess the resources necessary to meet the challenges we are presented in life. Resources are those things, actions, qualities, faculties, and relationships we can draw upon for aid in times of need. Through a mutual relationship built on trust and transparency, we will explore where you are now, where you want to go, and how you might get there.

I use an integrative approach to honor the needs of your unique experience.
Finding a therapist is awkward. I get it and I appreciate the energy it takes to start your search. Most of the people I work with are adults whose anxiety, depression, and developmental trauma have become barriers in their everyday lives and identities. Many have worked hard to appear as if they have it all together, but the fear of failure or being “found out” stalls the deep connection they desire with themselves and others. I find that what my clients believe are innate flaws in their character are actually intelligent coping responses that were once protective but are no longer helpful in the context of their current lives.

Maybe feeling like ADHD, anxiety, and/or depression has you paralyzed. My role is to act as your guide through change. I want to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and diagnoses and redefine them in terms that motivate instead of discourage you. I believe that together, we can work towards a life that you feel fulfilled by.

My therapeutic process is integrative and collaborative.
No matter where you are on this journey we call life, we can all benefit from support, free of judgment, to explore, grow, and evolve into the best versions of ourselves. It's exhausting and overwhelming, the feeling of being stuck in a seemingly endless cycle. Your thoughts run away with you, anxious and jumbled, trying to make sense of everything that has happened in your life, leading you up to this point. You want to make lasting changes, but deciding where to start feels impossible. You desire happiness, peace, and balance, but it is so hard to get perspective on your own. I would be honored to support you in self-exploration.

I do this through an Adlerian based integrative style to facilitate addressing the client(s)' specific circumstances and goals.
Humanity thrives through relationships, yet these same relationships often spawn challenges creating various levels and types of mental distress. Mental distress leads to second guessing, criticism of self and others, even hopelessness. As a result, gaining a guide to support personal navigation through the situational dynamics are desired in order to gain insight and skills to be confident in steps forward to a better life.

I use an integrative, strength-based approach in therapy to help with increasing self-awareness, gain new perspectives, decrease symptoms, and increase personal strengths to have a more meaningful life experience.
I know how difficult it can be to ask for help, but you have ran out of options and what has worked before is no longer working. If you're wondering if therapy could benefit you, you could ask yourself, "Why do people seek therapy?" Whether you’re an individual, or family with children experiencing a difficult life event/transition that has caused you to feel stuck, therapy can help you discover the choices you truly want to make, even when you’re faced with challenging decisions. No matter the circumstance, you do not have to tackle it alone and I’d be happy to help!

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
