I provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessments and evidenced-based psychotherapy for children, families, and young adults. My approach is collaborative and active, with emphasis on building a strong alliance, then working towards achieving desired goals. I operate within a systemic and multidisciplinary framework that includes parents and collaboration with educators/other providers when needed. This makes me an effective therapist & neuropsychologist at evaluating/working with youth that struggle with disruptive behaviors, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, anxiety, mood difficulties, and academic challenges.

Unbearable emotional and somatic states, relationship problems, identity crises, difficult life transitions, losses, grief, and trauma are some of the many experiences that plague us and make life hard. While suffering is a natural part of life, it is understandable to want to move away from it. However, it is when we give our suffering a voice that healing can begin.

People come to psychologists to find answers, get help, and feel better. Often the true nature and deep complexity of any challenge take time to reveal themselves. As a psychologist and neuropsychologist, I help children, families, and adults with the tools of psychotherapy, neuropsychological testing, legal/forensic evaluation, and consultation. My background in human development is central to my person-centered approach. My special interests include girls and women, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, neurologic conditions, employment, and life transitions.

It is within my belief that each of us have the ability to “EMBRACE CHANGE” set new goals and create a life of happiness within. We all have hopes and dreams and with gentle guidance and education we can set small goals and accomplish anything we set our minds too. My focus in working with each Patient is to help manifest positive emotions and to move toward a rich meaningful, successful life style. I have been in practice since 2009 serving adults, children, teens, couples and families. My focus is on enhancing the well being of those in Addiction, disabilities, Anxiety and depression as well as trauma.

Although I have worked with all age groups with varying types and degrees of problem, my current focus has been in depression, anxiety, substance abuse, the elderly, life coaching and sports psychology. My orientation is humanistic with a strong background in dynamic psychology and ego theory. My approach is spiritual without being particularly religious, based on Christian and Eastern philosophies.

Bottom line, I believe we are all here to learn all we can during our time here in the Earth school. I seek to serve couples, families and individuals addressing life adjustment issues including relationship conflict, developmental concerns, functional issues related to head or brain injury and efforts to increase self-actualization. I have been practicing as a licensed psychologist for more than thirty-five years; I have provided care and supervised services in mental health and psychiatric hospitals as well as correctional settings and hold specializations in forensic psychology and neuropsychology.

In 35 years working as a psychologist, I’ve been fortunate to help many individuals, couples and families through challenging moments in their lives. I’ve come to appreciate the myriad ways my clients draw on their strengths to face adversity and grow through it. Through our creative collaboration, they understand themselves more deeply and take positive steps toward achieving their goals. In the context of a trusting, collaborative relationship, I am active and interactive, asking thought-provoking questions, listening carefully, reflecting, making suggestions and providing support.

The heart of my work is to help people find better solutions to life's problems, and to help people find relief from personal and work relationships that have become stressful. In over 35 years' experience treating adults of all ages, I appreciate and respect each person's struggle to overcome problems interfering with leading emotionally satisfying and productive lives.
