I have over 40 years of clinical experience in private practice addressing a broad range of personal and relationship difficulties. I also provide Christian Counseling for those seeking a professionally trained therapist who shares a spiritually informed worldview, able to frame client's life circumstances and personal difficulties in a way that harmonizes sound clinical principles with spirituality.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Florida. I have experience working directly with clients in many different settings including outpatient private practice, home-based psychotherapy, inpatient psychiatric hospital, and hospice/palliative care. Also, I was blessed with the opportunity to work with an equine-assisted psychotherapy organization called Traverse, inc. which is an amazing program helping children and families who have experienced trauma. I’m a nontraditional therapist who works with people who don’t connect with typical shrinks. Most of my sessions take place outdoors. A large portion of my approach involves Behavioral Activation which starts by getting moving again, and provides a “reset” in reconnecting with physical wellness- working toward mental toughness and resiliency. I utilize physical activity interventions, starting at whatever level you feel comfortable and building from there. Simply walking & talking has worked for millennia to help people overcome depression, anxiety, trauma, etc. We may do office therapy, but doing it this way usually works better!

I believe that Spiritual healing is as important as emotional & physical healing. I began working as a christian counselor over 5 years ago and I have witnessed authentic, holistic and complete healing from the inside out, within the lives of many. I am passionate about working with people, especially in the Faith-based community. Many times in life, we can overcome difficult situations by learning about ourselves and how we can approach future struggles differently. However, when we exhaust our coping skills, or past events and memories become too overwhelming, we need help. I am equipped to work with clients on their specific issues, either temporary or chronic. My general approach is to address clients' wellness in the 'body, mind, and spirit dimensions to facilitate their growth and development in life.

Christians often struggle with depression, anxiety, addictions or other issues. These struggles can led you to feel as if you are defective or damaged beyond God's ability to repair. This couldn't be further from the truth. Nothing is impossible with God, and even our deepest wounds and behaviors that fill us with shame and guilt are not beyond reach for his healing. Often, Christians struggle to find a counselor who shares their world view and can understand their beliefs and needs. Sometimes, you can become discouraged by others around you who are trying to help, but don't have the training to help you obtain needed healing.

We all need hope and encouragement from others who will walk alongside us through difficult circumstances. You may have lost sight of who you are or your value, but there is always hope.
