I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have over 17 years of experience working with children, adults and families. I have worked in numerous settings including: outpatient, inpatient, residential and detention settings. I have experience and a strong interest in working with folks ages 3 and up. I have developed a proficiency in treating issues of attachment, loss, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Trauma, foster care or adoption, identity struggles, juvenile offenders, those who self-injure and many different behavioral disorders as well as the associated parenting difficulties.

Life often throws us curveballs. These could be relationship difficulties, death of a loved one, stress at work, or struggles related to past trauma, depression, anxiety or life transitions. Perhaps your little one is showing behavioral struggles and he is falling behind in school, or you need help navigating a new adoption, or foster child. I will tailor my therapeutic technique to you. It is my job to listen, learn about your individual situation and provide you with the tools, techniques or resources to help; whether through psychoeducation, dialogue, coaching, or homework.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 25 years of experience. My focus is on adolescents and adults. I have had the pleasure of working with clients from a variety of backgrounds. I strive to help clients identify and achieve their personal goals. I enjoy working with clients who are moving from adolescence to young adulthood, adults who are looking to enhance their life experience and those who are working through change. Working collaboratively in a therapeutic setting is a unique and personal experience and I learn from each and every client I work with.

My focus is on trauma and attachment issues, especially those related to adoption and foster care. I always begin with a thorough assessment that includes assessment the seven domains that may be affected by Complex Trauma. In addition I work extensively with families of teenagers on relationships, family conflicts, depression, drug and alcohol abuse, and school issues.

I work with individuals and couples of all ages and backgrounds. Experience as a therapist includes community mental health & work with children, teens & parents (primarily in school settings). My therapy focus is on wholeness regardless of the problem, but to provide a context, the work I do addresses residual post-trauma effects, ADD, grief and loss, chronic depression, social (and other forms of) anxiety, and self-integration needs following separation and/or divorce. A therapeutic fit with a good counselor is a huge relief; it helps us recover an inner resilience we either lost or never knew we possessed.

My clients come to see me seeking assistance for a wide variety of issues related to anxiety, depression, mental/physical illness, grief and loss, trauma, stress, and unexplained anger. I believe in exploring issues from a family perspective; where did you come from and how did you come to be who, and how, you are? When you struggle in your life, it can sometimes become too easy to focus solely on what is wrong, forgetting what is right. Working together, you can get back on the right path.

My approach in the session would consist of Cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing and EMDR. Sessions are in-person located in Hamburg and Randolph NY or Telehealh.

Asking for help takes a tremendous amount of courage. I am currently offering online and in-person sessions. I work to provide a warm environment to put clients at ease during this process. While some people struggle with long-standing challenges, others are overwhelmed with current stressors and need to get back on track or find new paths. I work holistically to help clients find balance in their lives and draw from a number of treatment approaches.
