My practice is uniquely focused on helping individuals overcome the emotional challenges experienced when trying to make a family. Most individuals assume children will be part of their future. In fact, many have spent years trying to protect against untimely pregnancy. So when obstacles present such as infertility, not having a partner, pregnancy loss, early births, or cancer it can cause incredible pain and suffering. This is where we have to deal with the hard stuff. I'm here to help you sort through the hard stuff, process the trauma, and make value driven decisions about your future.

As a therapist with over 40 years of experience, I specialize in working with individual adults, couples and families. Working from a family systems perspective, I build on my clients' capacities to bounce back from hard times. I engage each unique client in a way that facilitates their being able to challenge their patterns of dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression. Clients have shared that they appreciate the empathy and understanding that I bring to our work together.

When working with my client's I understand there is not a one-size-fits all kind of treatment, and try to tailor to my client's needs as much as possible. Ultimately, I want to try to help you help yourself so you can be independent as possible, but have some guidance when it comes to figuring out life challenges so you do not have to face them alone.

A licensed therapist with over thirty years of experience, I work primarily with adults who are struggling with grief or depression, issues related to midlife challenges, ADHD, and those striving to find a way through clutter (both mental and physical). Trained by EMDR Consulting, I am a recent EMDR practitioner, excited to add this valuable tool to my counseling services. I also work with individuals struggling to find the big picture of their life, struggling to identify core values, and are “failing to launch,” having a mid-life crisis, struggling to adapt to retirement, or are having a crisis of faith. I work with older teens (16+) who are having school related problems, suffering from anxiety or depression, or have attention deficit disorder. I consider counseling a ministry to your needs above your ability to pay. My rates are low.
