After receiving her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College in 2007, Amanda pursued her Independent license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) in Ohio. She has more than a decade of clinical experience working with kids, adults, couples, and families treating a variety of mental health, behavioral, and relationship issues. Amanda also has additional specialized experience and training in the areas of trauma treatment, suicide intervention, and intensive home-based therapy.

Everyone feels stuck at times and unsure what to do. I believe that with the right help you can make the changes you need so that a new path can be discovered. My passion is to work along side individuals, families, adolescents, children, and parents to help create this new path. I specialize in Marriage & Family Therapy and Art Therapy. I work with those dealing with past or current trauma, family issues, youth, emotional hardships, life transitions, divorce, parenting challenges, depression, anxiety, addiction, adoption, and behavior issues just to name a few.

My theoretical orientation is eclectic and integrative incorporating interpersonal process therapy (IPT) (here and now), psychodynamic, relational and CBT models. I approach therapy from a strengths based approach, focusing on client’s inherent strengths and resiliencies rather than their weaknesses. I also utilize CBT to focus on changing negative core beliefs and cognitive distortions and DBT to teach distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal assertiveness skills. Lastly, I am very relational in my approach in order to provide clients with a corrective emotional experience and holding environment for them to feel safe, secure, empowered and validated.
