There is a life worth living, but you are probably feeling stuck right now. Maybe you have tried therapy before and haven't had much luck, or maybe you've been struggling on your own for a long time. I'm here to get you UNSTUCK and moving towards that life worth living! I enjoy working with the following issues: substance, sexual, and other addictions, trauma, anxiety and OCD disorders, depression, chronic issues that haven't responded to traditional talk therapy, and issues that don't fit into a typical "diagnosis." or clinical label. I love helping my clients live by their deepest values and do what's most important to them.

I integrate ERP (gold standard for OCD), CBT, and ACT therapies.
Having been in therapy myself, I understand how intimidating and uncomfortable it can feel to ask for help, especially at our lowest moments. On the other side of this discomfort, however, is the opportunity to live a healthier, more connected, more authentic life. I’m here to create a compassionate and non-judgemental space in between. I specialize in working with adults, with a specific focus on OCD and anxiety. I am also passionate about working with young adults navigating the confusing, often tumultuous transition to adulthood and working life.

Hi, I'm a therapist specializing in the treatment of PTSD, anxiety disorders, and OCD. My ideal client is someone who feels stuck due to a variety of sources, such as unresolved grief and trauma, perfectionism, and difficulty identifying their own needs. These issues can cause significant distress in areas that are important to a person, such as their relationships, physical health, spirituality, employment, finances, and overall quality of life. My clients have noticed this "stuckness" and have some motivation to explore it and move forward to improve their life.

Moreover, I commonly treat individuals ranging in age who have anxiety disorders, including social anxiety, and OCD.
Many things have changed in our world, and in my experience, there is a need for mental health treatment, perhaps, more than ever. Many people both children and adults describe experiencing the Covid time period as involving emotional hardship, social isolation, and for some, crisis of identity. In addition to the hardships of this period, at present there appears to be a continuation of various hardships, and a shortage of providers and resources for people seeking emotional support. My goal in working with all clients is to be a “keeper of hope.” I am passionate about helping people overcome challenges and improve self-worth.

Do you get overwhelmed and then shut down just to manage the depression or fear? Do you obsess about situations that make you anxious, or instead avoid them altogether? You want to be fully present but you’re in your head most of the time, thinking about your worries, the pain from your past or the mood swings you just can’t seem to control. You pray to God begging for help but feel alone in your struggle for emotional wellness. But it is hard to experience peace when you have depression, bipolar, anxiety, OCD or trauma. Maybe you have more than one of these conditions. I’m good at handling several of these at one time.

My primary focus has been on treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, OCD, and substance abuse, typically utilizing either CBT or DBT based interventions, but I have worked with clients with a wide range of needs and am always seeking training in evidence-based practices that can help the people I work with.
At its best, therapy should be a partnership. I am dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment focused on your needs and goals. I believe anyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives and have worked with clients from a large range of life stages, from teenagers looking to find their path to elders seeking meaning and fulfillment in retirement.

I work with clients who lack a sense of calm and hope. We can label it as anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, or many other things, but for the person or family that is struggling, it’s the day-to-day overwhelm that matters. This is a parent full of self doubt. This is a child who has outbursts or is easily overwhelmed. This is a teenager who shuts down when looking at homework. This is a professional who sits in their car dreading going into the office.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
