I have worked with individual men and women dealing with a wide range of struggles. Some of the struggles that I have helped clients with include depression, anxiety, addiction to multiple different substances, borderline personality disorder and other personality disorders, and co-dependency. I also have a lot of experience working with couples as well. I have helped couples work through and heal from infidelity, addiction to various substances, conflict management, and improving communication skills.

I have experience with a wide array of issues including depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug issues, PTSD, personality disorders, bipolar and other mood disorders, eating disorders, trauma, and relationship issues. I have an eclectic approach to therapy using different techniques such as motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, psychoeducation, dialectical behavioral therapy, and person-centered therapy.

I have had the benefit of working in a local mental health facility for 8+ years. I am excited to bring that experience, training, and knowledge to The Freedom Center. My approach to counseling is that the client and I are on a journey. We are working together to discover and achieve the agreed upon goals. This gives autonomy to the client where they can help set the structure and direction of each session.

There is no such thing as an ideal client. That is too boring. The way I do therapy is relaxed. I am not your average therapist, and I am not going to be like, "How does that make you feel?" but I am going to say, "What up! How are we doing today?" I never stop learning, and when you have me as a therapist, you will see that you will fall back in love with learning. Overall, I am just honored you allowed me to help you! I have been in the fields of mental health and substance abuse for over 20 years. I enjoy working with all populations. In trying to navigate through substance abuse and mental health issues, there are many factors that envelope a person's ability to cope with life. I understand that asking for help can be difficult and identifying a need for change can induce some fears. I can help you identify any changes that are needed and offer encouragement and support through your journey of self preservation.

My heart is to help individuals and families in need. I am passionate about helping the broken, the lonely, and those in pain. I believe in a person-first approach in which we work together to help address needs and solve problems.

Significant disconnection and shame are intense and unfortunately common experiences people are struggling with. Sometimes, our emotions or body sensations feel intense or overwhelming. This pain may lead us to act in ways that are against our values or desires. Perhaps we act out sexually, eat excessively, or are avoidant of relationships.
