My ideal client is one that has had weight problems and is looking for that "something else" to make permanent changes to their life. You have tried losing weight, you have been successful at losing weight only to have the weight sneak back on. You have tried a program or maybe even several programs, only to find yourself back at square one or worse then that, heavier then ever before. Most diet programs do not provide small educational steps that are maintainable and usable forever. nor help you gain insight into your true relationship with food, a critical necessity. That is where I come in.

I am a psychotherapist with many years on mental health experience. My clientele is adults, 16 and up. Areas of practice focus are anxiety and depression, chronic pain, grief, traumatic loss, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and adult ADHD. I'm trained in the therapy modalities of hypnotherapy, EMDR Exposure (CBT), and Emotional Freedom Technique - an energy psychology method. In helping clients break old habits, I'm a licensed provider of Trim Life, a weight loss program using hypnosis. Another program is Clean Break for smoking cessation.

Welcome, looking for someone that is warm, direct and knowledgeable. You found it! I obtained my MSW in 2013, from Rhode Island College. Following my graduation, I worked at a Psychiatric Residential Facility where I learned the benefits of ACT, CBT, TF-CBT and DBT modalities. In 2015, I moved to Mecklenburg County Public Health, where I worked alongside CMPD providing therapeutic support to families that experienced acute and prolonged trauma exposure. During my tenure in Public Health Department, I honed my skills in somatic approach, such as EMDR and Brainspotting, to help the individual improve their mental health.

Therapy should feel like a conversation between two people filled with some laughter, tears and comfort. What can you expect from me as your therapist? I am very laid back, open and honest. I am accessible to my clients in between sessions should a situation arise. I like to have a good time while also addressing your goals and believe that there are working sessions and venting sessions. Therapy is a great opportunity to get a new perspective, to increase self-esteem and to feel more confident in the decisions we are making and reframing those automatic negative thoughts.
