I have worked with individuals and couples who are seeking support and guidance to overcome challenges in their day to day life. They may be experiencing a range of symptoms such as constant worry, low mood, lack of motivation, difficulty communicating, or challenges concentrating. Recognizing the importance of their mental health, client is motivated and committed to actively engaging in therapy to improve their overall well-being. Their needs include a safe and non-judgmental environment where they can openly discuss their thoughts and feelings. They seek validation and understanding, as well as practical techniques.

Evening and Saturday, online or in-person appointments are offered. My hope is to provide a sense of connection in a world where we have become disconnected from each other. I possess a genuine and strong passion for walking with others on their journey towards good mental health and meaningful, happy lives. I have two decades of experience assisting others overcome their challenges and empowering individuals to achieve their goals. I believe Forrest Gump said it best when he stated "Life is like a box of chocolates"-as life can be sweet and enjoyable; but it can also be bitter and painful. It can definitely send us on emotional roller coaster rides that are not fun. My approach to working with mental health is to meet people where they are and provide individualized care. It's about building and fostering relationships for growth. Similar to the analogy of chocolates, I believe every individual is unique and present with their own life experiences. Thus, there is no one size fits all, & mental health does not fit in a box.

My intention is to work collaboratively with you to affirm your strengths, identify your challenges, and find ways to support your growth into the unique human being you are created to be. My areas of specialty training are related to developing greater integrity between who we are and how we live our daily lives. One specialty area is the assessment and care of persons who experience gender dysphoria and incongruence. My other specialty is assessing, treating, and accommodating high functioning Autism, especially in girls and women because, due to estrogen, the symptoms appear very differently than in boys & men.

Therapy is a personal, intimate journey towards self-understanding and self-acceptance. I provide a holistic approach to therapy in a safe and supportive environment in which you will be heard and respected. Together we will identify and develop your specific goals and choose which therapeutic approaches will be the most comfortable and effective. She also serves as a clinical instructor at Sanford School of Medicine. I am best at helping people find their purpose, build themselves up from rock bottom, and to help people move from being stuck surviving into someone that is thriving in life's journey. Life circumstances and mental wellness varies when someone walks into my office, but I have witnessed people completely transform. One evidence based and effective approach I use is EMDR in both individual and group settings to move past trauma when feeling stuck in the healing process. When you need emotional healing, I am able to provide direction, understanding, and jump start a person's ability to take on the next life challenge.

As a therapist I enjoy meeting clients where they are and together designing a plan of action that will put their life in line with their goals. I use a strengths based, solution focused perspective. I help my clients learn tactics of cognitive behavioral therapy that they can use comfortably to obtain desired results in their life. I use a variety of family therapy techniques to help my clients understand relationships within a family. From this analysis, the client can safely explore these subjects and work towards resolution of the issue. I hold a Master's Degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University.
