I address grief, sadness, anger and anxiety that result from life-changing situations.
I see each of my clients as far more complex and resilient than a diagnosis can define. I believe that a person experiencing disorienting life events can benefit from a therapist knowledgeable about the intense and chronic nature of their symptoms. I have many years of experience providing therapy targeted at relieving emotional overwhelm and preventing mental and physical exhaustion.

Some examples of life transitions: grief and loss, challenges growing a family, death and dying, anxiety/ depression, starting a family, self esteem/self worth, dating/marriage, divorce, new job/new home, graduating, retirement, empty-nest, menopause, illness, identity/sexual orientation issues, addiction/recovery (including eating disorders), aging & anything unique to you that causes change.
You can have an amazing life; the life you've always wanted. As an expert in counseling surrounding death and dying, I have discovered that the issues encountered due to grief and loss are the same with all life transitions. This is even true for those transitions that are positives in our lives. This concept is what drives my approach to assisting you through life's transitions with ease and comfort. This will give you the opportunity to create a life of peace, love and joy. I look forward to being a part of your journey

I am particularly passionate about working with women who deal with issues such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, adoption and foster parenting, infertility, pregnancy loss, infidelity, sexual identity, spiritual integration, trauma, sexual abuse, and grief.
Life brings painful experiences that can pull us away from becoming who we were intended to be. Whatever the source of your pain, there is grace, comfort, and healing for you. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to heal, and in the courage of my clients as they pursue wholeness. I am passionate about creating a safe space for my clients to explore the problems that keep them from being intimately connected with themselves and the people they love. I use a whole person approach; trying to be attentive to the synergy of body, mind, and spirit in the client's experience.

Sometimes life throws a curveball that wasn't anticipated, is difficult to handle, or that just seems unfair. While some things can't be changed -- the way circumstances are experienced and the responses we make to our circumstances requires skills that can be learned and applied to improve quality of life. The things we say to ourselves when facing overwhelming circumstances, disappointment, and injustice are vitally important. Whether you contend with uninvited trauma, grief and loss, anxious or depressed moods, or challenges in significant relationships, it is important to make choices that nurture meaningful life experience.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
