To achieve optimal success and happiness, we must maintain emotional health as well as physical health. If we lose this emotional component, physical health is not achievable, and vice versa.

Life poses many challenges. We are burdened by our circumstances, and carry the past with us into our present. Dr. Robert Reiner is the Executive Director and founder of Behavioral Associates (BA), and has been practicing psychology since 1981. He specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for individuals, couples and families alone or in combination with Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, Virtual Reality Therapy (VRT) and QEEG assessment. Dr. Reiner is a warm, compassionate psychologist that personally meets with each new patient during the initial consultation to assess the patients' individual needs, match them with one of the expert clinicians on staff, and devise a treatment plan. While he views medication as a last resort, psychiatrists are available to prescribe when deemed necessary.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, family and interpersonal relationships, OCD, as well as a wide array encompassing many other challenges. I also work with people on Peak Performance training. My work takes place both in a clinical office setting as well as out in the real world, working with you in the way that will most effectively achieve your goals.  I am informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi, Motivational Interviewing, among other modalities and frameworks. I am also trained in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy and work with clients using Ketamine.

The clients I work with range from 7 years old to 85. Typically the clients who seek my help are experiencing anxiety, depression, panic, relationship problems, phase of life difficulties, or memory problems. The goals clients have are typically to achieve a more balance life and mitigate their mental health difficulties.

I am trained in using CBT, EMDR, and other evidence-based approaches to help people make lasting changes to their self-image that lead to real changes in their lives. My approach is hands on, goal-oriented, strengths based, and gender/identity affirming. I help clients challenge unrealistic patterns of thinking, deconstruct who they are from who they have learned to be, learn how to feel safe and regulated in their body, identify options for difficult life situations that align with their values, and learn the skills to meet their needs e.g. assertiveness, boundary setting, communication, mindfulness, relaxation and grounding.

My practice specializes in empowering the individual to regain the perceived loss of control over their life. The main avenue is through the use of state of the art Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, Hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Techniques. The conditions treated include anxiety disorders, depression, phobias, insomnia and various neurological issues including ADHD and Tourette's Syndrome. I also specialize in various stress related conditions including headaches, gastrointestinal disorders, chronic pain, TMJ and cardiovascular problems.

There is nothing wrong with you for feeling afraid, anxious, depressed, angry, depleted of energy, numb, lost, and confused. In fact, your courage and your willingness to be vulnerable are what make you resilient. Your body is responding to its environment, and that’s normal. My mission is to help you to identify the symptoms or areas of life you'd like to change and to aid you in making the changes necessary. My approach is supportive and cognitive-behavioral. I earned my Master of Social Work from New York University Silver School of Social Work with a focus in trauma-informed care for adolescents and young adults. I am particularly interested in working together with clients to process childhood trauma. I understand that past experiences have an impact on our present life. I believe that trauma impacts the nervous system and can present in both mental and physical symptoms in the body. I wishs to work with clients to build healthy coping mechanisms to help regulate the body.
