I started on this path working with youth living in a residential treatment setting who had a troubled history along with emotional and behavioral issues. I then moved on to working with people of all ages as a mental health clinician. I obtained my LPC-MH in 2009. In 2014, I moved on to work with emotionally and behaviorally challenged teenagers in the special education population in the school setting. I am now in private practice and enjoy working with all populations.

I specialize in neurodiversity-affirming assessments for autism, ADHD and mental health for children and adults. Clients often come to me seeking testing for the first time or as a second opinion after feeling misunderstood by other clinicians. My goal is to understand more about your unique lived experience and neurodivergence, get you the right diagnosis, and help you get connected with the resources that you need.

I am passionate about helping youth navigate their thoughts and feelings in a healthy manner. I have an extensive history working with youth age 4 through early adulthood. I have been providing therapy for 25 years. Many people have experienced anxiety, panic, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse and addiction, chronic pain, headaches & migraines, bipolar disorder, ADHD, as well as adjustment disorders. These problems interfere with everyday life and happiness. There is hope because they can be successfully treated.

Kathryn has worked with youth since 2014 in a variety of programs including residential settings, education, early childhood, and counseling centers. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Concordia College Moorhead and a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Affairs from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She obtained her Associate of Social Work license in 2018 and is currently working towards her Licensed Professional Counselor hours in South Dakota.

My ideal client is exploring change and considering what it may look like. Whether that is change in their relationships, lifestyle, career, family life, social life, etc...
