My ideal client is experiencing anxiety and depression and has an awareness that they need help and are willing to do "homework" outside of sessions to build the skills they need to "be their own therapist." Their needs are to gain insight into the negative thoughts and core beliefs contributing to their symptoms and to process past traumatic events to gain a more accurate and helpful perspective on the precipitating events and current situation. My ideal client's goals are to decrease their anxiety and depression and be able to experience life in a way that leads to increased self-efficacy and contentment in life.
