My therapeutic work focuses on understanding your inner world to build a trusting relationship. Creating a safe and nonjudgemental environment for you is my goal. During the therapy process I aim to define problem areas to help you, your marriage, or your child overcome obstacles pertaining to emotional issues or behavioral issues. I work with kids who experience issues with divorce, school, peers, learning, discipline, and trauma. When working with couples, I use a specific scientific method aimed at addressing particular troubled areas in the relationship from communication issues and conflict to affairs.

Cognitive therapy is the process of working together to create a strong foundation for both emotional well-being and life. Core building blocks for a solid foundation include changing distorted thoughts, altering irrational behaviors, learning physiological soothing skills (such as meditation and HRV breathing) and using methods of emotional regulation. It is also essential for a person to learn to embrace a sense of unconditional worth, to grow a sense of purpose, and to live by one's values/virtues. CBT is less about searching for insight and more about practicing strong habits, that over time, lead to deep satisfaction.

Having worked with people who have experienced serious trauma, I believe that people can heal and live full lives. I have worked with people who think that their marriage is over, and with work and commitment, turn the marriage around to become even healthier than it was in the beginning. My clients have struggled with serious marital strife, rape, abuse, depression and various other issues. Over the last twenty plus years, I have seen changes occur when my clients work hard, understanding that change takes time, and with assistance, learn that they can get the life and relationships they want.
