I wish to support people in cultivating capacity, deepening awareness of their own innate strength and power, and processing experience so as to heal and grow in ways that inform how we choose to show up for the future. A primary focus of my work is relationship and working to identify, examine, and transform our sense of connection to self, nature, and others; drawing out thoughts or stories that aim to demean or diminish the benefits of our awareness and sensitivity and then nurture our unique skills and abilities in the realms of connection and communication.

The world renowned teacher, Pema Chodron, once said that "compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It is a relationship between equals". This quote speaks to the heart of my clinical practice. I view therapy as a journey that we take together, one step at a time. We will travel together on this path and find ways to support a life of health and wellbeing that are meaningful to you.

Our work together will provide you with the space to get curious, feel inspired, and learn new skills to help you navigate life’s natural ups and downs.
There are times in our lives when everything seems to be humming right along, and there are times when it's just not. It could be that you're worried about your child who's struggling, maybe you don't know what you want in life, your relationships aren't fulfilling, or you're feeling lost and unsatisfied in life despite having done what you thought would make you happy. Regardless of the reason, if these kinds of challenges are keeping you up at night, or distracted during the day, you're not alone. You're at a crossroads.

I specialize in working with clients seeking clarity in life direction, people who want to gain insight into healthy relationships and productive communication patterns, and those seeking to revise old "maps" of their inner worlds that no longer serve them.
A compassionate and nonjudgmental space where you can reflect, discuss and learn about your reactions, choices, unconscious beliefs, and challenges can lead to increased well-being. I bring an attitude of kind presence, safety, and respect to the journey of discovery, supporting you to transform disharmony and stagnation into clarity. You’ll gain skills, support, and strength to recognize triggers to anxiety, worry, stress, sadness, relationship and work issues, or other life challenges. You’ll also gain insight into your strengths and gifts, clarify priorities, and open paths that allow for wise action.

While most people contact me because I specialize in using Clinical Hypnosis to find the cause for healing the symptoms, we still need to talk about the history of the problem(s), original purpose/function, and what life will be like once the problem(s) is less or even gone.
Hello - I am a counselor who is also a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse with 40 years of experience, including 20 years of practicing Clinical Hypnosis for a myriad of issues: anxiety, trauma, depression, and pain, to name but a few. I also train clinicians to utilize Clinical Hypnosis and am an Approved Consultant for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. I focus on finding and treating the cause of the symptoms and in this way, most symptoms are markedly reduced and, often gone altogether. As a client, you and I would team up together and work cooperatively as a team!

Life is a journey - sometimes wonderful and sometimes painful and challenging.
My ideal client would be someone who wants to grow, is willing to touch his or her own pain and at his/her own pace is willing to change. We all come with our own “story”. I do believe that through personal growth we can change it - understanding that it is only a story. We are the main actor and editor of ourself and this story that is being called ”my life”. Through therapy we can learn how to take ownership and responsibility and replace it with a more satisfying and successful version of ourselves

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
