If you’re reading this, you’re having some sort of trouble. I help good people get through tough times. There are many ways to do counseling. You can think of me as a life coach who offers principles to help you solve personal and relational problems. And /or, I can be your therapist to help you process a history of hurts and help you get on with your life. I work with couples and individuals (children, teens and adults) in an atmosphere that is casual and relaxed. I use language and tools you can use now. No psychobabble. If we connect we're likely to do some good work. So I'm ready when you are.

Are you overwhelmed, anxious, sad, or feel like you're not sure how to navigate a new territory of your life? Do you need help setting healthy boundaries or coping with stress and anxiety? Or perhaps a past trauma is beginning to surface? I genuinely believe our darkest wounds lose power, and we begin to heal when we shed light on them. My goal is to provide support and insight to help you identify your strengths and get your life back on track with appropriate coping strategies and perhaps new boundaries.

Hi, I'm Kelly Steiner, LMFT 37215, and have been working as a therapist for over 25 years. I provide a safe space to help you in working through some of the things that may be holding you back from finding joy, moving forward, or finding healthy connections. I have worked with all types of clients of all ages with varied reasons they are seeking out treatment. A comforting, safe, non-judgmental place where they feel valued. I recognize how difficult it can be to ask for help from a stranger, so I want to project a warm atmosphere where the session is all about them.

I began my professional career with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and forged my path into becoming an accomplished Marketing Executive in Latin America, for such prominent companies as Georgia Pacific and Old Castle Distribution. Today, I am proud to say that I chose to follow my passionate intuition and became a psychotherapist (LMFT). I discovered a hidden purpose that lies in treating and empowering those suffering from trauma, depression, anxiety, organic mental illnesses, addictions, and interpersonal relational problems.

My name is Esperanza Sanchez. I am the daughter of Mexican immigrants. I am an Adult Child of an Alcoholic (dad). My mom lost herself in caretaking her husband and 8 children. This family chaos and emotional emptiness led me to help others like myself. When we grow up without safety, protection and boundaries we have to figure It out on our own. What the hell do we know?! But we sort of figure it out; graduating from school, college, become professionally successful but we can't shake IT off. . . heart racing, mind racing, the negative voice: "que pendeja eres" (you're so stupid), "buena para nada" (good for nothing)

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
