As a mental health therapist, I provide a safe and pleasant environment for you to share your life's challenges. I believe in helping you realize your strengths and abilities to overcome these challenges. I assist you with processing and working through your troubles as well as equipping you with the knowledge and tools to combat your obstacles. Working together we will make positive changes in your life. Some of the areas I address are: depression; anxiety; physical, sexual, and emotional abuse; anger management; couple's counseling; sex therapy & concerns; PTSD; and ADHD. Therapy is a journey into self-awareness. My private practice, Birmingham Therapy Services LLC, focuses on addressing presenting symptoms that can be a manifestation of our past and current experiences. Creating a safe environment is fundamental to therapeutic success. My role is to help the client identify what skills are needed in order for them to feel safe; this includes gathering an understanding of past and present experiences, resource building, coping skills development, psychoeducation, and discovering ones strengths. This approach is key in preparing a client's nervous system for the deep dive work.

There is hope for all! After being a teacher in public schools for 14 years and a director of a faith-based non-profit that helped troubled teens and parents, for 2 years, I decided to go back to school to become a licensed therapist. I enjoy "walking" beside of people who are hurting and struggling with stress, anxiety, trauma, relationships and/or depression. I work with adults, young adults, teens, and couples. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother trying to love others right where they are.

This works towards reducing many sources of conflict in one's life.
