I have 20 years experience as a School Counselor. I started a private counseling practice in February 2015 as an LPC-Intern under the supervision of Dr. Donna Rial-Baker, D. Min., LPC-S. Even though I have gathered expertise working with children and youth for many years, I have spent the last 3 1/2 years building a practice working with clients of all ages including adults. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with adults who are interested in making life changes related to relationships, careers, and/or personal goals.

Dr. Gard has a PhD in Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine with over 30 years of clinical experience. Clients span a wide variety of diagnoses. She sees clients Age 5 to seniors. ETNH office is open Mondays through Thursdays and by appointment to serve the community. She can provide biofeedback, neurofeedback, EMDR, hypnosis, light therapy in addition to eclectic approaches (cognitive and behavioral) to address your specific needs.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe the counseling process is much like a journey and is a collaborative effort between the therapist and the individual, couple, or family. My counseling style is dependent on the needs of each unique individual and their goals. Therefore the counseling process will be different for each person, but my role as a therapist, to guide and encourage, remains the same. In the first few sessions, we will work to discover where you would like to go on the journey and continue when you are proactively committed to getting there.

Dr. Rial-Baker is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Doctor of Ministry. She is a practical, interactive therapist who uses an array of therapeutic techniques. Her treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. She incorporates a blend of conventional, spiritual, and alternative approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. With sensitivity and compassion, she works with clients to help them to build upon their strengths to bring life and blessings into all that they experience.

I am a board licensed psychologist. My bachelors is from SMU and my Ph. D. in clinical psychology is from the University of North Texas. I also hold a postdoctoral Masters degree in psychopharmacology from Alliant University. My training taught me to meet you where you are in your life. The goal is to help you improve how you feel, how you function and your interpersonal relationships. Clinical psychology encompasses all degrees of difficulty one might experience in life.

I believe in creating an environment which serves as a ‘soft place to land’ for my clients. When children are challenged, the entire family is challenged. By creating a positive environment where children feel accepted, valued, and safe, they are able to make sense of their world by expressing themselves in a way that feels natural to them. Children do not always have words to communicate their struggles and can become overwhelmed by big emotions. As a Registered Play Therapist, I strive to give voice to these challenges and support caregivers in navigating the sometimes difficult and very important job of parenting.

My goal as a counselor is to help children as well as adolescents find their way in this sometimes confusing and difficult world. With over 30+ years experience as a teacher and school counselor, I work with children and adolescents dealing with issues such as anxiety, divorce, self esteem, anger management, school stress, behavior problems and academic struggles.

I've been a counselor for over 15 years and in that time, my counseling services have helped countless people get through stressful challenges by questioning negative thoughts and understanding the source of specific behaviors and emotional patterns.
