I work with Men and Women when Anger, Fear or Depression is the only feeling they seem to recognize. It's my aim to help people who know all about Conflict, but too little about Conflict Resolution. I provide Relationship and Individual Coaching for teenagers as they navigate through the complex feelings of being pulled between family, friends and themselves. I work with adolescents and adults struggling against ADHD and for those whose ADHD and ADD has blossomed into Anxiety, OCD, Depression of Addictions. Together, I work with Couples, Families and Teenagers helping them with the Relationships and Communication Process.

I often find myself telling people, "Life happens, but what matters most is what you do about it". We all have experienced, at one time or another, a situation that has us needing to take a breath. Anxiety, depression, trauma and loss/grief are just a few things that I can help you work through by providing a safe space for self reflection and discovery. This is your life and I am simply here to help you and your family discover what works for you!

With nonjudgmental perspective exploration I address depression/anxiety, relationship issues, grief/loss, and complex PTSD.
“Start close in…” What in you is hungry for answers? What might your life look like if you were deeply well fed by your choices? People come to me with hunger pangs. They're hungry for deep connection - to themselves, to a partner, to a job, to their life. They come to me craving answers - carrying persistent questions that may be contributing greatly to feelings of starvation, of wanting more. I partner with people who are searching for clarity, purpose, and more meaningful connections both personally and professionally. My clients seek to be better nourished by their life choices and feel more balanced in their relationships.

I believe in people living their best life and being their most authentic self. I believe that everyone has the right to inclusive, competent, weight neutral, and trauma informed mental health care and that's what I focus my practice on. I am an affirming and inclusive therapist who believes in calling out systemic and societal oppression and injustices. While I can't tell you a space is safe I hope that my office can become one for you.

The road we travel is not without bumps along the way. These bumps can be the loss of a job, loss of independence, end of relationship or death of a loved one. This may cause many overwhelming feelings of denial, anger or sadness. These are all normal feelings when dealing with life, however if you find yourself having difficulty overcoming these feelings it might be helpful to seek help.

As an executive, you know life at the top can be deeply rewarding. And profoundly challenging. Business – especially at the top – is stressful. There’s never enough time. The choice seems to be 1) succeed at work or 2) succeed at home. Pick one. It feels lonely at work, but just as lonely at home. You’re distracted or even consumed with worry. Angry outbursts can happen. Loved ones may say you’re distant and not “present”. With concerns about cash flow, sales, employees, customers, competitors, the economy, partners and investors, worry is an under-statement. Sometimes, you wonder how long you can keep doing this.

During my studies, I have focused on the interactions between thinking, emotions, behaviors, and belief systems. I have learned that many factors, such as genetics and how and where someone grows up, deeply affect how we think and feel about the world when we're navigating the complexities of becoming and being an adult. The holistic and sometimes eclectic approaches I have learned are helpful for personal growth or when we have thoughts, actions, and feelings that we wish that we did not have or are just confusing to us.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
