“Life is about CREATING, not finding, yourself. Circumstances can knock us down & leave us blindsided...but we can use these times to redefine ourselves! Instead of wilting & giving up; we can grow & recreate who we hoped to become before the hardships & heartaches. Your painful experiences don't have to define you; instead let them propel you to redefine a better version of yourself; more whole-hearted, focused, connected & alive... I will never pretend to have all the answers for your journey because those are yours to find, but I will commit to walking with you.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW, LCSW
“ARE YOU STUCK? Has life become something you are trying to survive rather than the exciting adventure you once dreamed of? If this sounds like you, you are not alone. Modern life is a dizzying maze of conflicting demands. Everyone struggles, but it's what we do with our struggle that counts. Things CAN be different. My clients create the lives they long for by learning to act rather than react.... by setting boundaries rather than waiting until they completely exhaust their emotional and physical resources.... and by identifying core values and prioritizing the truly important rather than the urgent.

“Whether you're brand new to the idea of therapy or simply looking for someone to help navigate life's challenges, it can often be daunting to try and choose the right counselor. Finding someone you feel can truly understand where you're coming from without passing judgement is important. Carol A Hicks, Marriage & Family Therapist in Pensacola

Marriage & Family Therapist, MA, LMFT
“Each client is unique regardless of the issue which motivates therapy. Meeting with individuals or couples, I work to clarify goals and generate 'action-items'. I don't tell you what to do or what is wrong with you. I help you identify what you want and what you need to accomplish that. I help you retrieve desired resource experiences from your learning history and get them available in the current life contexts where you need them. My role includes serving as a 'translator' for couples as I help each one hear and understand what the other is trying to say.

MM&T Mental Health & Behavior Services, LLC, Counselor in Pensacola
““Dr.Tyson is proud to announce that she is one doctor who still makes house calls.” My reasons are 1) during my pre and post doctorate internships I met individuals who due to transportation issues were unable to receive services, 2) upon completing the certification in advanced behavior analysis I became aware that many individuals would not display the maladaptive behaviors in the confines of an office,3) most adults appreciate the after hours services and most children appreciate not having to go to the office, and 4) working in the homes allows a less hurried pace and time to explore holistically.

Bridging the Gap Recovery, Treatment Facility in Pensacola
“BTG uses a phased approach, with gradually increasing levels of freedom and responsibility. We do this by transitioning our clients through our different levels of care. Our clients are not just taught basic recovery tools, but must begin using them from the beginning, and increasingly so as they progress through the phases of their program. This treatment philosophy is obviously more evident in our residential program, but still plays a subtle role in our out-patient programs as well. If your client has already had some substance abuse treatment, you may be interested to know that our transitional phased approach is self-paced rather than time-dependent. We will work with other treatment providers to maintain a continuum of care based on the client's status in the different dimensions spelled out by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), and the unresolved issues in the clients' original treatment plan. Therefore, a client coming to BTG for long-term or follow-up care after completing a primary treatment program elsewhere, would more than likely start in Phase II or Phase III and likely progress through theses phases quicker than someone coming directly to BTG.
