Seeds of Hope Eating Disorder Program, Treatment Facility in Philadelphia
“Seeds of Hope is an Intensive Outpatient Program specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. It offers support and direction for individuals in crisis or struggling to function on a regular basis. It is often an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or can be a transition for individuals being discharge from an inpatient stay. We treat clients in the least restrictive environment which allows many to maintain their daily life and routine. Our staff consists of Licensed Professional Counselors and Nutritionists and Dietitians who specialize in the treatment of eating disorders. Clients are supported three times a week by using a multimodal approach consisting of Process Group Therapy, Expressive Art Therapy and Educational Nutrition Therapy. These groups reduce isolation and secrecy, help identify and express feelings, and develop more effective ways of coping. A therapeutic meal is included which our clients make at home and eat together with our staff. Our group maintains a small group census to ensure optimum therapeutic support.

I use a variety of techniques including mindfulness, insight-oriented exploration, and behavioral change strategies, depending on the needs and style of each client. My areas of special interest include young adults, trauma / PTSD, queer issues, substance abuse, Autism spectrum/ Asperger's disorder, emotion dysregulation, and spiritual exploration.

“Did you know that more than 1 in 4 adults seeks counseling at some point in their lives? It is a practical starting point to the healing of old wounds, heightened understanding of the self, and creation of positive change. In order to do these things I believe that it is necessary to take a holistic approach. That is to say, together we will examine all aspects of your life: relationships, career, social, emotional (to name a few) to identify areas where healing, improvement, or perhaps a complete turnaround is necessary.

Sondra Rosenberg, Art Therapist in Philadelphia
“My approach as an art therapist is humanistic and image-based. I help clients to find projects that best enable them to express their inner world. Together, we enter into that world and explore the contents therein. This exploration opens up possibilities and solutions in areas where the client is stuck. I believe that each element of an image reflects different parts of the person who created it. Through the use of voice dialogue, where the client is guided through a process of giving voice to elements within the image, insight and self-compassion are increased and places of inner strength and wisdom are accessed.

Allan L Goldberg, Psychologist in Philadelphia
“I believe that the work of therapy needs to be done in an atmosphere of safety, intelligence, warmth and humor. Therapy is often hard work because it takes so much commitment for us to look at ourselves objectively and work through challenging issues in our lives. Sometimes we come to therapy because there is a specific situation that we need immediate and/or brief assistance with or for an objective voice of reason. Sometimes we come to therapy because there have been challenges over time that have gotten in our way of getting what we want out of our lives.
