Twenty-two years providing counseling services to people has taught me much about us as humans: how much we have in common and how much each of us has a unique story. I take great delight in helping people tell their story and make a new script for their future. We work together to foster healing from past hurts, to learn new skills for self-care and to build strength in those all-important relationships in clients' lives. We can work on short-term problem-solving with a coaching style or deeper healing therapy.

I empower individuals, families, and couples to live life to their fullest. I believe strongly in helping clients to help themselves. We are not robots. We are humans. As humans, we are not perfect and we all have emotions. Embracing and accepting our emotions is a key component in moving towards reaching our goals. I provide care, support, and guidance in working with clients while they participate in therapy. This is a collaborative and team approach. Since we are not robots, I work with everyone on an individualized (non-cookie cutter) basis unique to their situation.

I specialize in working with children, teens and young adults dealing with anxiety, life transitions, perfectionism and ADHD and executive functioning problems. Patricia Lomando, LCSW, RPT-S, provides neurodivergent affirming services for the child, adolescent, and adult. Depression and anxiety are passions focused on throughout her career. Using sandtray, expressive arts, Internal Family Systems and Play Therapy, she explores mood and prevention patterns, collaborates on coping strategies and helps identify those sometimes elusive gifts that are part of every neurotype. With expansive certifications in Registered Play Therapy and Infant Mental Health, she works through methodologies that bridge family gaps and help “translate” the child’s language through play, art and sand tray work.

My years working as an Elemental School Counselor and also as a Mental Health Counselor in various settings has provided me with the experience of working with individuals in different stages in their lives while providing support and guidance in many challenging situations. I realize that everyone's journey is different therefore I enjoy working together to create a unique plan to overcome any challenges to help move in a new direction in one's life. I am licensed in the states of FL, NJ, and NY and am currently accepting new clients. I am open to all populations although I primarily work with individuals who identify in the LGBTQIA+ community. Dr. Yanet Vanegas is a licensed psychologist trained at Harvard Medical School’s McLean Hospital.
