Therapists in Sacramento County

Clary Tepper, Psychologist in Sacramento
“Therapy is about helping you make the changes you desire. Together, we will examine how your experiences-including your thoughts, beliefs, expectations, motivations, fears and needs-are affecting you currently. The therapeutic relationship provides an opportunity to gain insight into patterns and explore aspects of yourself that are hard to address. As you become more aware of these patterns and deeper aspects of yourself, change becomes possible. I know from experience that this process works best when both the therapist and the client are engaged and active participants in the process. I work with both individuals and couples.

New Dawn - Medically Supervised Private Detox, Treatment Facility in Orangevale
“Our CARF Accredited Detox program is staffed 24/7 with experienced Doctors, Nurses, Medical Assistants, and Addiction Counselors in a confidential, private residential setting to ensure the most comfortable Detox experience possible. Typically, the detoxification period ranges from 5 - 7 days depending on each individual's physical and psychological condition and the rate at which they progress through the stages of withdrawal. Withdrawal symptoms are managed with medication and/or Acupuncture Therapy to minimize any pain or discomfort that is common during the withdrawal phase. A Psychiatric Evaluation occurs within the first 24 hours of admission, followed by additional appointments as necessary for medication management and continued evaluation. Our Detox houses are gender specific, for your comfort and security, and residents are free to participate in individual therapy and to attend groups at our adjacent Residential Treatment center whenever they feel physically able to do so, at no extra charge. Once the Detox phase is complete, residents can then immediately admit into the Residential Treatment program and begin learning about the resources and tools that are available to help them with successful, long-term sobriety.

“Life presents many challenges to our ability to stay balanced and centered in our day to day existence. During difficult times, additional support can offer the breathing room we need to help us make sense of our circumstances. The process of therapy, and the journey of self-discovery in a supportive environment can help untangle confusing thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns that seem to be keeping you stuck. Whether you have feelings of depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, or a challenging life transition, you are not alone. I have a deep respect for the courage it takes to begin this process.

“Are you tired of continually trying to control, change, get rid of, or avoid painful thoughts, feelings, sensations and experiences? If so, together we will explore ways to move beyond these temporary relief strategies towards relating and responding in a more flexible manner. Discover, express and integrate previously unknown parts of yourself, build upon strengths already in place, and work on the past by increasing the vitality of your work on relationships in the present. “I commend you for reaching out to the possibilities therapy may offer. Change begins in this moment. Life can feel unmanageable. We experience the joys and challenges of relationships. The relationship may be with ourselves: inner struggles, uncertain goals, questioned values, addictive tendencies and confusion as to why we "do what we do". The relationship may be with another. The relationship may call upon us to clarify our expectations, to establish personal boundaries, to develop flexibility, to reflect on co-dependence, to improve our communication style and to open ourselves to change.

“I have been in clinical practice for 25 years. I have been able to work with people from all walks of life who may be struggling with issues that may either be long-standing or contemporary in nature. Therapy begins with trying to help my clients arrive at clearer conceptualizations as to why they are struggling. The reasons behind the struggle may based in history and/or based on a present challenge. My view is that when one has a more accurate view of the issue, solutions, with therapeutic guidance, tend to follow more naturally.
