Dr. Hatton is a licensed clinical psychologist who received his M.S. in experimental psychology and Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Georgia Southern University. He completed his predoctoral internship at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville Student Counseling Center, where he worked as a full-time staff member for 5 years.Dr. Hatton is a generalist who specializes in mood disorders, such as anxiety and depression, as well as life transitions, religion and spirituality, shyness and social anxiety, stress management, and religious trauma.

I have been in the field of social work for twenty-two years providing psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Counseling can be a difficult process in which vulnerabilities and pain are often exposed. E is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and provides individual therapy to adults. She is originally from Florida and received her master’s degree in social work from Florida Atlantic University. She has training and expertise in a variety of mental and behavioral health areas, including addiction treatment, geriatric care, child therapy and individual therapy with adults. Prior to receiving her master’s degree, E was a Certified Addiction Specialist in Florida. She spent time counseling in treatment centers but wanted additional education and training to be able to practice more diverse treatment approaches.

Current problems are often influenced by past experiences which can then become generalized assumptions about life and others. It is important to separate assumptions from the truth. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) in the State of Tennessee, and am a National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC). I have worked with clients of all ages in a variety of settings and currently see clients ages 8 and up. My approach to counseling is client-centered and is tailored to the needs of each individual client, drawing on my knowledge and training in different modalities, including play therapy, art therapy, CBT, ACT and EMDR. When I am not working, I enjoy a rare quiet night at home with my family, but I spend most of my time these days driving one of my kids to their many events.
