I graduated with a bachelor's degree in social work from Wichita State University and furthered my education by earning a master’s degree in social work from Newman University.

I am a licensed psychologist who graduated with my doctorate in 2007. I provide therapeutic services to individuals ranging from children to adults, with a special interest in working with depression, anxiety, and grief. Trained in approaches ranging from psychodynamic to cognitive behavioral therapy to humanistic, I tailor my treatment of each individual based on their needs and comfort level.

As a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, I have completed extensive training regarding the therapeutic needs of children. I have over ten years of experience treating children ages three and up by implementing techniques tailored to fit from play therapy, attachment-based therapy, sand tray therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy approaches. I value the input and participation of caregivers in the therapeutic process. Some of the concerns I often address include: anxiety, anger management, attachment issues, divorce, sibling conflict, depression, trauma, emotional regulation issues, grief/loss and parent-child relationship issues.

It is important during treatment/therapy to rebuild the family structure because changes, healthy or not so healthy, affect the client’s family. I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. My practice is trauma informed to address symptoms of PTSD and Acute Stress and I have received trainings in Hypnotherapy and Internal Family Systems as well as CBT and DBT. I incorporate mindfulness practices into my work and periodically run groups for those who desire to develop these skills more fully.
